Need Whirly Bird Tips

Whenever I'm at the terrain park I always see people throwing sick whirly bs and I wanna learn how. All I can do is jump off the ramps. Any tips on how to make myself spin/go higher? Thanks, I really wanna throw some whirly bs soon.

wirly birds are very advanced, i would try doing a double flying dutchman first.

This. It worked for me very well. I was able to learn the whirly bird in no time. Now I can do more advanced tricks such as the switch.
