Need some ski colleges in Oregon/Washington/etc. BEFORE DEC. 1st

Park.

Active member
Title says it all. I am doing the early action deadline, and I have done a ton of reasearch myself on everywhere but the West Coast. As of now, Im looking mainly at Westminister in SLC, but if there is another college that offers what i need +more and is near a solid mountian (looking for park with alot of mountain), then I will gladly take a look, and I am applying to a few colleges.

Personal experiences are welcome and thanks guys !

You don't want to go to the west coast. The snow is horrible, the lines are long, and the education is sub-par.

Western Washington, University of Washington, University Seattle, University of Oregon.

Western is a JC basically, UofO is 2+ hours from skiing. US is a diploma mill, and fuck the huskies.

The snow is sloppy wet, and frankly there isn't much of it. Traffic is terrible and you'd be better off in SLC.

I'm sorry but most of that means nothing to me ( first par. Only)

If you cannot figure out my post with the quote directly above it then, frankly, you don't deserve to go to college.

Moral of the story, we don't like your kind up here.

Good to know that my lack of local college abbreviations and no knowledge of the area means I'm a retard... maybe I am retarded but even so, I would like for you to say shit to someone's face instead of over a computer. At least that way I can respect ypur confidence about being a douche instead of the chance that you are a huge shit talking pussy.

Western Wash is a shitty school, a glorified community college, University of oregon is far away from skiing, University of seattle is a terrible terrible school. This dude doesn't university of washington

Op you best bet is to go to the university of utah, you can get instate tuition after the first year and its 15 min from skiing

Thank you k+. My friend goes to the U of U and loves it, but I am a member of a tuition exchange program that excludes state colleges. I basically get a free boat to any private school that is a member of this program. I shouldve mentioned that in the OP... of course taking a skip year to be a local resident of Utah and going to the U of U is my backup plan

I would likely clown on you in person if you can't tell that UofO matches up to university of Oregon, and Western matches up to western Washington... From the post quoted directly above. Seriously, its on par with that toddler game of fitting the blocks into the right holes.

As for talking shit online, I don't mind it but you're a mighty big hypocrite lol. Or just dumb. And if you look as dumb as you come off in these posts my conscience wouldn't let me clown on you.

You win.

Do you feel better now? I'm not trying to start shit when all I want is info on colleges. I'm sorry you feel obligated to point out any and all faults I may or may not have. If I am as stupid and ignorant and hypocritical as you say, then all I have left for me is to be the better man and accept my loss. If you don't intend to help then please don't post any more on this thread.

I've heard mixed things about Colorado college. Any experiences?

Personally, no, just anecdotal evidence. Most people LOVE it, but you have to be willing to accept the fact since it is a private, small, liberal arts college you will have a lot of students coming from wealthier and preppy backgrounds. That being said, there are a fair share of outdoorsy, liberal, and down to earth students.

I did help. Go to SLC(salt lake city). We're you not able to understand that either?

And FYI(for your information) CC(Colorado college) is the opitomy of a typical rich kid liberal arts school. Not a bad option by any means but Westminster or UofU(university of Utah) are much better options for skiing.

I went to a catholic preppy private school freshman year and hated the condescending people that just radiated elitism. I hate people who don't realize what they actually are, so now I'm tied between completely ignoring the school and looking into it/ applying after you said there are down to earth kids.

I'm also on the east coast in NH so I'm not a fan of BYU and I've been to boulder in person... I completely forgot about it. How far away from skiing is it do you know?

Dude come on. You really don't need to be like that... but you are helping...

You will find that at almost any school, it is just easier at a smaller school. Take a look at it if you can, I would highly recommend it if you can.

University of Denver is not in Boulder, it is in Denver. That being said, it is a good 2? hours away without traffic. I do know people who go skiing during the week if they can fit their schedule around it. Be warned, Denver too has a preppy scene.

legitimately meant Denver as I've never been to boulder but ya I really like Denver and the atmosphere but I never went there when classes were in session.

Why do all of you people keep calling Seattle University the University of Seattle. It's super weird and you sound like you've never been here.

If you don't want to sound like a total newb its:

"Seattle U"...(Seattle University)

"Western"...(Western Washington University)

"U Dub"...University of Washington

Also, I have to say, OP, in californiagrown's defense I couldn't believe you couldn't decipher that post either.

western offers some REALLY good programs if you know what youre interested in. i.e. the best teaching school in the NATION also some very competitive and ABET accredited engineering programs.... very good environment studies programs. talking shit without knowledge is a little useless wouldnt you say?

the engineering school is average at best. yes i do actually know that.

best teaching school? like elementary ed?

But i was talking more about how the school is viewed from the outside, and the atmosphere compared to big time schools.
