Hey guys, I dont know shit all about cars and I need some help regarding roof racks. My girlfriend has a 2000 corolla and I want to get some roof racks for it so we can put bikes on it in the summer, and skis on it in the winter.

Are there any brands or certain designs I should be looking out for?

yakima or thule, just head to a local outdoors store and they'll have everything you need.

Your going to need a system with clamps and bars (I assume there is nothing on that roof because my bro has an 01 corolla). That way you can screw on a ski rack and a bike rack interchangeably. It's a bit expensive to get one like that, but it's what you need ($400 ish probably, but Backcountry is your friend :)

Thule makes great systems, as does Yakima. It seems like you get more quality for your dollar with Thule though.

use thules website then u cant get everything u need. u just enter your year make and model type of sports you do and they do the rest. thules quality is much better for the money over yak.

Thules seem to be pretty solid, and really easy to put on yer car
I haven't had much trouble with mine, even after switching cars a lot during the season

Im partial to thule, but you cant go wrong with yakima. Both of their websites have a program that will tell you exactly what you need.

Thanks for the tips guys...the online software those websites have that tell you what you need is awesome

if you want to save some cash ryan hit up craigslist etc and buy some bars, then just buy the fit kits from whatever bar company you get. check backcountryoutlet for the inno racks, they make some great ski ones (hell I have a spare pair here I could probably sell you). bike trays if you want fork mount the rockymounts trays are really good, or again go for used ones. they are soooo over priced new

Yeah I was going to check out Kijiji for some of this stuff since its super pricey ($400 for 4 clamps with no bars...ouch!)
