Need Some Binding Help/Advice

This isn't really "what bindings should i get?" so im not sure if it belongs in gear talk or not. Mods move it if you want.

So i break bindings quite a fair bit....and im going out to France for this season, 5 months.
I will have a pair of Anthems, Chronics and a powder ski.
So what i'm wondering is, should i take 2 pairs of bindings...but have all 3 sets of skis drilled.....(not ideal cause i'd have to swap them up alot and would be annoying). And i was thinking if i leave a pair of skis sitting about with holes in them it might not be too good on the core? Moisture etc?
Dont really have the cash to buy another 2 pairs so im just looking for some advice

What kind of bindings do you currently use and how are you breaking them?

I suggest getting some old all-metal sollies like the Equipe 957/977/997. They are the only bindings I use. They are heavier than most bindings, but pretty much impossible to break. You can drop 40 to a hard landing with no worries. They also have a much better feel than alot of the plastic binders which feel sloppy to me.
 
Well i've had Look PX12 jibs on my anthems for this season, the break snapped off completely and i have no idea how, didnt actually notice til i was finished skiing.So this means my boot doesnt have anything to grip on, just the ski really. Before this though it seemed my forward pressure to be fucked....but not, if you get me. BamBam on this site will back this up cause he checked them and they seemed okay. just pre released alot.
I tore the heel piece out another pair of looks i had, the old PX12s, and then i cant really remember the other bindings that have broken.

I do however have some Rossi Ti somethings sitting in a box, they seem pretty solid, turntable. So im using them on one pair.
So FKS's are preached about so much i'm considering looking into a pair. But not sure how pricey they are.

I feel this should be in gear talk really. Oh, and i suck at bindngs, i really have no clue about them. Even though i probably should. A hell of a lot of ducktape seems to be looking good to me.
 
It doesn't really sound like youre breaking bindings, breaks break all the time, and are replaceable at any shop. If you tear out a heel piece, it doesn't mean you broke the binding. It means the heel came out of the ski and is probably fine. (from what you posted anyways.)

If youre forward pressure is wrong, it isnt sort of but not really wrong. It is wrong and you should have it checked. If you have changed boot sole sizes, then it would be a good idea to have it looked at as well.

If you are smashing bindings to pieces then look at a more sturdy, thus more expensive binding. sth16, jester, etc... I wouldnt really travel with a ski that is drilled, but not in use due to weight, and moisture issues. You more than likely wont use the pair that is just sitting there.
 
Ye i see what you mean....hmmm. i wish i was rich. $10 an hour just aint cutting it haha

But i think i will use all my skis to be honest. Anthems for rails/kickers, Nice stiff chronic for pipe/crusing/wahtever.

Oh, and this thread doesnt matter anymore.......My lines are coming with jesters. But thanks for the input guys. +K
 
dude...i would consider searching out the best deal and getting a third pair of binders....even if they're not all metal/super bomber....check out www.spadout.com

if you break em left and right...might as well not pay too much....I picked up a pair of P12's from them for like $100. Doesnt get too much better than that PLUS you'll be ready to rock when you break them other ones....i would hate to be f'in around with that in a foreign country.....
 
if you are really breaking them then you need to buy more burly bundings. sth 16, p18s, fks 185, marker comp 20, just to name a few
 
you break bindings a lot yet you want to get away with having less bindings than skis?

sell either the chronics or the anthems and use that money to buy a back up pair of bindings, or just keep the money.
