Need some advice of some legal shit

So, I got a speeding ticket in eastern Nevada (I live in Tahoe) in January. I was stupid and forgot to pay it, and everything. Regardless, I got a letter in the mail that I "Failed to appear" for my ticket and my fine went up to 522, and there is a warrent for my arrest, so if I get pulled over, or appear in court for something else, apparently they will arrest me and take me in (I know I'm a dumbass, we can get that out of the way) Anyway, I'm trying to get the money for that taken care of, but meanwhile, my friend borrowed my car and parked it in front of a fire hydrant and got me a 305 dollar ticket, basically, the jackass said he won't pay it, but he is willing to go to court with me and try to get the ticket down. Only problem is, I am going back to NH in mid may and my court date for the 31st of May. I was going to call and get the court date moved, but my roommate told me, If I do go to court for it early, they will arrest me there if I hadn't taken care of the speeding thing yet.
Would it be ok to call them to change the court date, or would they come and arrest me? Basically I need help figuring out what to do.
Hopefully this made sense.
 
Your friend BETTER fucking pay it. If he doesn't, pawn his fucking laptop or tv cuz that's bullshit. Also, yeah, you were dumb, but if you pay the warrant goes away.
 
If you have a warrant you dont need a court date to go down there. I would go to the courthouse Monday morning and get that cleared up. Even if you ask for time to pay the speeding ticket. At least get the warrant cleared. Then while you are there try and get the other court date moved up. And thats douchey of your friend.
 
why would your friend do that? If you borrow someones car and it gets towed/parking ticket/damaged you pay for it. About the missing court date, for speeding tickets court is not mandatory unless it is criminal speeding. Failure to show up to a court date is usually just an admission of guilt, as is paying the ticket. The reason they have the lower voluntary payment is because not going to court saves them money. If you do choose to go to court, you will almost always have to pay that voluntary amount at most, usually can get it bumped down even more. If you missed court and didn't reschedule then you have essentially admitted guilt and will have to pay the bigger amount. It's not worth it dealing with a lawyer for $500 honestly.
 
Do you have to go to incline village court? cuz i have some experience there. The judge is really not that bad. I got a $535 wrong way and fire hydrant parking ticket and went to court the day before I went to washington. He asked me some simple questions and made the arguemnt that I was a poor college student and cant afford it. He lowered it down to $100 and let me be on my way. So your buddies parking ticket could be lowered significantly if you just put in the effort.
I also had an MIC, delaying an officer and a trespassing charge. the fine was above 600 and he lowered it to 100 and said if I stayed out of trouble for a year I wouldn't have to pay the rest of the $500. He's pretty fair and logical judge.
 
Well basically the friend who borrowed the car is the son of a con artist and he insists that you can get out of parking tickets with a bunch of steps, but I honestly don't want to deal with that. that's why he insists he will not pay. And I can't go to the courthouse monday and pay, because I don't have any money and I am trying to sell my car to pay it.
 
Ahhh, nothing like waking up in the morning and asking high school students with a propensity to smoke weed for important legal advice.

And as far as the fire hydrant. Fuck that kid up. Pay me or I'll fucking beat the shit out of you. Yeah I loaned you my fucking car, I did you a fucking favor, you parked in front of a fucking fire hydrant and want me to pay the ticket? Give me the fucking money or I'll break your fucking knee caps.

Seriously need to get your money from that kid. If you can't handle being tough take him to civil court. Fuck that shit
