I'm trying to help a friend out with an English paper......

Should english be the offical language of the US ?

Meaning everything be dealt with in English . Restricting the public use of minority langauges.

What is your stance on immigration ?

of course it should be the official language. yeah we may be ignorant but there is no use of making any other language our official language
only 9% of people in our country are bilingual.

people should be alowd to speal whatever language they want. you learn so much more with another language

if u think about how many people are learning english while dropping their native language we'll probably be speaking the same language some day. by some day i mean like hundreds of years.

according to my spanish teacher english and spanish will mesh together to create Spanglish..... but no i dont think they will ever make it a law to speak english

ha, then i wonder what percent i am. Trilingual, some to be....ummmm quadrilingunal? Nah fuck that, i'm gonna know 4

haha i made a thread about this like 2 years ago, i got into a HUGE arguement with my liberal history teacher, about some extra credit assignement, and i said i would write it in italian, just to prove a point i could and she couldnt do anything about it, and she flipped out saying it MUST be in english, so i told her well then why is english not the official language of the united states? and she just started yelling at me, must have been pmsing. But i actually researched english being spoken around the world on the internet and foudn some inertetsing things

Max, i mean shanny, o wait i mean max peters. English should be the only language here nuff said. genos philly cheese stakes says it best "This is America speak English"

There should be no official language but why should states pay more so people who come to this country can read signs. It's dumb to waste that money on people who don't pay taxes. I'm not saying every immigrant is illegal but if I were to move to a foreign country I wouldn't expect them to change things for me. I would learn the language.
