Need legitimate Legal Advice - Got Scammed

So I live in a town of 60 000 people (Peterborough, Ontario, Canada), pretty small. There was a contest at our local bar to win a trip to vegas, and all my friends were pretty suspicious about it since our town has never had anything like this before. But were like alright, might as well give it a shot. Anyway, this one girl is hanging out near the contest box all night. When they "drew" the number, sure enough the girl in the front row won and pathetically attampted to act surprised. So basically everyone knows it was a scam but we don't know what to do about it. I kinda want to come up with a fake summons to court to scare them into paying me off with an actual trip. I'm looking for a fake lawyers letter or how to write one. Believe me, I'd be the first one to say this is unethical but I hate being scammed by people.

Either way, If you can lend any help to the situation I'd appreciate it. Kinda sad I turned to NS but I don't know any lawyers or anyone in a position of power. So....+K to anyone with advice/help to get a free trip

I don't really get this. The chick was flirting with the people running the contest?

I'm not a sue happy person at all. I just want to get back at people who purposely scam people into coming to a bar when to contest is already rigged...

This. who gives a fuck at least you have food and shelter look at people in darfur and alot of african countries they use rape as a weapon dont complain about a fake scam

nothing you are doing is legitimate. your friends may have been scammed and now your scamming back fuck bag. way to go.

i'd be careful about a fake summons. not sure about laws in Petersborough but i'd hazard a guess that it's probably a pretty serious offence to fraudulently assume the power of the court.
that said, i get you're annoyed, but seriously? why bother? save the effort and go skiing

Hahaha, oh wow.

So how much did you pay to get into this raffle? You are thinking of sueing or breaking the law yourslef by faking a summons. I'm sorry, but this is such fucking stereotypical 'MURICA stuff that I can't help but laugh.

lmao this thread kinda sucks. I was drunk last night, my bad. We did get scammed though, but scamming back makes no sense, especially when its a serious offense hahaa

/ thread.

just don't go to that bar anymore. they tried to scam business, and in turn lost business. they lose.

ok, i know a lot of people aren't giving you legitimate legal advice, so I figured I will. impersonating an officer of the court is a serious offence and you should really think twice about doing it especially since you didn't, in fact, get "scammed" out of anything.

don't write a fake summons but you can write a letter pretending you are a lawyer. We did this at work one time and it was absolutely epic. We faxed it to another one of our stores to fuck with them and they ended up freaking out and thought it was 100% real.

But yeah just tell all of your friends about the scam and tell them not to go to that bar. Write a letter to the owner of the bar and tell them that the scam was bullshit and you and your friends are never going there again, maybe you'll get some free drink tickets in exchange for not ruining the bar's image.

btw.. peterborough... I feel for you homie haha. You go to Trent or are just unlucky enough to live there?

If you didn't pay for a raffle or entry (this does not include cover for the bar) you did not get scammed. It sounds like it was just a publicity stunt.
Any attempt to collect money is gonna fail big time... They don't owe you shit
