Need Laptop and don't know what to get!

What the title says. I will just use for school, editing videos from time to time, and going on the internet. My limit is $500, so what should i get.
 
I have a dell inspiron 1525 that cost $550. Not the best, but it was good for my old editing and for everything else. If you're filming with a nice camera, it won't be enough.
 
Yea thats what I using right now, just make sure you pay the extra 40 bucks to get a custom top eg white. Unless you want a fingerprint magnet, then your good to go
