Need help with wide breaks!

Hey!So i'm buying a pair of fat skis (105 underfoot) and so i need to find a pair of bindings that fit on them.

I really don't feel like buying a new pair so i figured id take an old pair that i don't use any more and just replace the break. I have a pair of Salomon C608 bindings.

Basically what i'm asking is, are all breaks able to go on any type of binding?

But those are 100mm and the skis are 105mm...And like the other breaks ive seen, these breaks say compatible with Z and L series bindings.

Brakes are normally a few mmbigger than they say and you can just flare em a bit. 5mm is literally nothing. The 130 brake is gonna hang over the sidewalls a bit and could catch when carving.

I dont know about the z and L series. I know what the z toe piece is. I googled your binding and the brake i posted will work perfectly. The ones you posted will also work just fine with your bindings but i would advise against having that much extra width

alright awesome, thank you!You think i could find these at a local ski shop? or theres actually a Salomon shop beside my cottage, they should have these right?

a salomon shop should. i think most people who need fat brakes for salomon bindings will need the sth series so regular shops might not carry em because they arent in that high of demand but thats just speculation on my part.

I hope you weigh under 100 lbs if you plan on skiing hard with those bindings... It would be a shame to put that type of binding on a new set of pow sticks. Like trying to power a Porsche with a lawn mower

this is spot on, if you plan to ride hard you will need some differnt bindings.

Just for your info though if you can only find STH brakes get those and you can just swap the mounting plate from your old narrow brakes.

damn, didn't know that. Theyre old bindings my buddy gave me to put on skis i use only for urban. I guess i'll have to find new bindings, thank you.
