Need help with phones!

hey all you BC'ers.

i'm currently in van oragnising everything for my season in whistler. (from australia as cliched as it is)

but the cellphone system here is so shit. I bought a sim and some pre paid credit with fido, and trying to get that set up is a nightmare. it asks me for an address, which i dont have yet, and the plans are crazy, went with a per minute thing.

is there any plans out there, that i can get a sim, chuck it in my iphone, and it jsut works? dont have to give then an arm and a leg to get going. i just need a number so i can get and address and a job!

please help guys.
 
I had to get a phone too. No matter what you do it's mega expensive. You should be able to put any sim in your iphone though. You might have to pay a lot to get internet though.
One thing, make sure you ask for a whistler sim. Calling from whistler to van is classed as long distance!
I got the $29 prepay deal with fido. Seems ok, i'm just trying not to use it too much.
 
Locky! I didn't know you were coming to Canada this year. Talk to Tom (NBS instuctor) he got his SIM card and everything set up a couple weeks ago when he was coming through vancouver. Are you already in Whistler because i'm picking up Jono from the airport tomo and we will be going out parting downtown sat night.

i got my phone all sorted out now.

in van til wednesday then head up to whistler. you probs wont get this til tuesday so ill see you on friday maybe? gonna send it friday night i think.
