Need help with mute grab 3, switch hits

Hi,

I'm learning to do a mute grab 3. When you spin right side, do you grab the left ski with your right hand or do you grab the right ski with your left hand?

What about spinning left side?

Also, haven't trouble hitting jumps switch. I just try to spin 180 each time, but I bust my ass every time I'm at the top of the jump.

Any tips?

thanks,

Derek

derek,

im into this letter format, it makes us seem like pen pals.

you can grab mute with either hand, but i believe for most its easier to grab with right hand left ski if youre spinning left, at least at first.

spinning switch takes a little while to figure out. you gota be patient at the top of the lip and really make sure that youre comfortable skiing switch so you can properly pop. make sure youre not switch snowplowing off the lip, keep your stance wide, and pop once you feel your tails leave the lip. this will help you to spot your landing the whole time and avoid catching your tails.

hope all is well, please write back soon.

your friend,

mark

Thanks Mark. I'll give your advice a try.

Regarding the format, I'm old school like that. Wait... this is the "newschoolers" forum. ha.

Dear Mark and Derek,

If I grab left ski with right hand going regular, what should I grab when I throw it switch?

Write back soon!

Dear Everyone in this thread,

I hope this catches on. it make reading things a lot easier, plus it's really entertaining.

I trust all is well with your families, and if it is not, my regards go out to you.

Dear Derek,

Regarding you letter about 3s and switch hits.

With mute grabs, you can do whatever you want. Both of them can look good and be tweaked in many different ways. Just try both and start with the one that feels more comfortable to you, and work from there. I love leading and trail mutes, and they both definitely create different tricks.

For switch take offs, I am a little confused about your problem. Are you actually hitting you ass on the take off, or just landing on you ass at the end? Some more information about your troubles would make it easier to give you some tips to help.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,

Marc

Dear Steeze,
It appears that we have common characteristics in our names and I was wondering if by any chance we are related in any fashion. I would be quite pleased to find a fellow steeze relative on NS on which to converse about family happenings and catch up on occasion.
If this turns out to be the case feel free to contact me at eazysteezey street, steezadelphia.

Hey everyone!
grich here, just wanted to say I've been thoroughly enjoying this thread and I wonder if everyone wrote in letter form then people would be nicer? I think it's a good idea and will definitely be keeping it up. To the thread maker, you are a pioneer congrats.

Dear Forum,

I love NS. If you are busting your ass on your switch hits, its probably because you are trying to spin to early.

P.S.
