Need help with an ART project!!

i need some ideas for a mixed media art project i need to do. I'm not super creative, I can be pretty artistic, but only with references like a still life or other picture look at. I gotta make this "mixed media" type of project, and i was thinking maybe something with bob marley/rasta, but i have no idea. it needs to have some painting, and words going verticle and horizontal, like this.

anyone ever do something similar? or have any ideas for what i could attempt to paint, other than bob marley and the words One Love or something with a rasta type background.

and i can draw, paint, burn, cut out pictures from a magazine and put them on it or do whatever, but i need to make the main image with my own method

well, like you said ur pretty creative, so maybe you should combine all those things, like paint a portrait of bob marley on a piece of wood, that always looks good, but you have to use oil, then you could burn whatever letters you want on the wood, and paint over it. hope this makes sense and hope this helps.

just take some played pic of bob with a J, paint it and have vertical letters be the smoke, nomsayin?

That is a cool idea, but the picture has to be on a certain canvas type paper

that sounds pretty cool, and i like the idea with the smoke, however i don't think that would go to well with our school's policy.

do a nasty mixed media with bob marley- make a mosaic with bobs face or whatever with black and white newspaper clippings, then watercolor over it, and add the lettering with newspaper like a ransom note. maybe do something with chalk too? black and white chalk is always fun to work with.
