Need help with 270s

if you know how to pop and spin off snow, and you know how to set your edges and pop and spin off rails (both front and blind) then its just a matter of finding a rail and practicing it a thousand times until it becomes easy. rails are soo much fun but annoying as fuck sometimes to learn stuff on because it takes forever to get stuff right sometimes. just practice. A LOT.

also, go here:

that's got some helpful stuff too.

For 270's on you really don't have to spin as fast you you think you have too. Just pop and don't huck the spin too hard, or it will be hard to set down. I like to look at the box at 180, it helps to stay balanced. Also try and land as gently as possible, its easier to stick the landing that way. Hope that helps.

reading about advice on them helped me learn.

but one thing that helped a lot more was watching videos and studying the skiers stance and how they do the trick. Above all, get out and try it yourself!

I actually still do this for other tricks that I plan on getting down this year.

Good luck!

IDK. I watch Andreas' video on BS 270's when I was trying to learn and it made it worse for me. IMO there is a huge difference between 270 off of a box and 270 off of a rail. When I tried to scissor on a rail, I couldn't get beyond 90 off, probably because I wasn't committing with my upper body. You can scissor to stop your rotation, so if you scissor without rotating into the spin, you won't spin.

My friend just told me to forget about trying to scissor and just turn my head uphill once I was on and look at the start of the rail. 2nd attempt, it worked after hundreds of failed attempts. I think the scissor only works when it helps you get you shoulders rotating into the spin. I have seen guys spin off of boxes without scissoring too, but I still have trouble now spinning off of a box.
