Ok guys so I bought some armada poles at the beginning of the season, and one of the baskets is already broken off and lost at my local hill. They wont let me use it without a basket and Im going out west this weekend for a ski trip. I need some help figuring a way that I could rig something up to act as a basket. Doesnt need to look good, just work well and hold up. +KKKKKK for help thanks!!

thats really weird that they wont let you ski without a basket. but you can just take the lid to a pingles can, stick your pole through it, and then duct tape it on there

haha yeah they wont let me cuz like the whole thing fell off, theres nothing there haha i could like stab someone witg it

haha, how lame of your ski hill :Pso you're not allowed to have sharpened edges either cause you might be able to decapitate someone with your skis ?

anyways, every decent skishop should be able to fix you some new baskets, just have a look, they might not have the exact model but usually they'll find one that fits :)

Take a basket off another pole (from lost and found or a broken one in a dumpster or something).

Its super easy, you just take a wrench/vise grips or something and put them loosely around the pole above the basket, then whack down with a hammer onto it. Should force the basket right off.

Then flip your pole over and put the basket on by doing the opposite. Good to go.

I do this quite a bit. Since I break poles so much, I get free poles from anywhere I can find. They are always too long/have crappy baskets and grips so I cut them down to size with an angle grinder and swap on my nicer grips and wider baskets (for skinning in the backcountry). At any one time, I usually have about 5-7 mismatched poles in my truck.
