my computar is stuck in opposite or something When i press a number key the symbols come up %$#@!%$#@%#$@%^#$ and i can"t make periods because the sideways carrot comes up > somebody tell me what is going on everything is reversed>>

 
no this really isn"t cool im writing a fucking paper and i can"t write a fucking paper without any periods or anything

Well im a computer retard, but the first thing that came to my mind was: A) shift key stuck? B) Is something resting on your shift key?

 
that happens to me all the time after i hold down the shift key for too long. it doesnt get stuck but it like activates something like filter keys. normally the only way i can get rid of it is to turn my computer off and turn it back on again.

 
yeah, rebooting is almost always the answer. good luck.

^ i was just gonna say that cuz when u push shift and then period the > shows up and when u type numbers with the shift key down #@$#^$%&^%$ shows up.

uhh NUMLOCK is off, so its using characters and symbols rather than the numbers.

if thats not it then yeah probably a keyboard problem, like when my fucking cat spilled water on mine and it started to cross all the keys oer to differnt letters and shit.

No numlock has nothing to do with this cuz that wouldnt involve the period button

Numlock has nothing to do with it; all numlock does it activate the num pad on the right of your keyboard.

^yes but what happend when you hit the numbers on the right key pad with num lock off... you get characters not numbers, thats all i was stating. im on a laptop so i couldnt test it out myself but i know its some different characters thats all
