Need Help choosing Line SFB

Hey Guys!I have been looking at the Line Sir Francis Bacon's (SFB) and i'm pretty sure im going to buy them. (2014 version). I was just wondering if its a good ski and what size/bindings I should get. I'm 165cm 5"4, and i weigh 57kg. but I should start to grow pretty soon. I am advanced/expert and need a ski which is good for those occasional pow dumps, little bit of park, and just skiing on-piste (mostly for off piste though). For bindings i was looking at marker squire or Giffon. Probably need to buy 115mm brakes. Please leave reccomendations for bindings. I have hired some atomic powder skis once and i got 177cm so i was thinking of getting the 178cm SFB's. Thank you!

Don't dump money into new skis/bindings if you are going to outgrow them. You'll end up having to remount bindings every time you get new boots, which really blows. Given your current height, the 178s would be too tall for you. Sir Francis Bacons shouldn't be that much taller than you considering the type of ski that they are.

My recommendation is look at a used setup. Sure you might have to remount them, but you'll be able to get two used setups for the same amount as one new one. This means you'll be able to have the correct size ski each season and not be on some ridiculously long things for a season or two.

Do you have any skis you could reccomend. And like i said i should start growing soon. So if i grow to like 170cm this year do u think it would be fine?

The Bacons would definitely be a good ski, especially for what you are looking for. The Atomic Blogs would fit what you are looking for as well, but I don't like them as much. Armada TST's are also fit what you want fairly well. They're more directional than the others, though.

If you grow 5 cm this season you'd be fine on the 172 Bacons, but if you grow another 5 cm next season they would be a little short. It really comes down to personal preference. At 175 your could definitely rock some 172's, but they would ski more like a park ski. For reference, I'm 170 and my pow skis are 183 and my other skis are 170.

Also, buy nice bindings. If you get the Jesters or last seasons FFG 16's (my personal favorite) they will last a long time. Sure they might cost a little more, but you probably would be able to throw them on your next three pairs of skis no problem.

You'd be fine with either if you're on a budget. If you really are advanced/expert the Griffons will feel more reliable. I tried to skimp on bindings once and I regret it. I ended up replacing them the next season because they broke. You're fairly light now, but if you grow you will obviously get heavier and might decide you need a better binding.

Binding wise you will be fine on a 12 din binding but buy a decent one. I would get a sth2 13, attack 13 or griffons. All would last a While and not cost too much.

If you want I got a pair of 178 sfb 2013 with marker squire bindings. They are in super good condition and have the bindings on them otherwise the haven't been mounted besides that. They have also never had a core shot amazingly.

When you say off piste what do you mean? Are you sending cliffs and ripping chutes or just hitting the bumps between main runs? Sure weight is important, but what really matters in the end is how much force you are putting on your bindings by turning or landing jumps/drops during a run.

Well i don't do like 4m cliff drops, by off piste i really mean like not very far from the piste. Normally i keep it with going under the lifts but sometimes i go further
