i listen to rap mostly but anything will work. i posted this in Media & Arts but no one is replying

For a little bit of help - don't send it or call it a "sponsor me" tape, call it a promo or promotional video, it sounds more professional and wont get instantly thrown in the trash.
As far as music, it depends on the style of edit and who you're sending it too. Don't pick the most thug song on your playlist - again this professionalism. Think of this as a job interview, you wouldn't show up in jeans a tall tee and you icons on would you? (I hope not - cause unless you're looking to work at McDonalds forever this is a bad way to get a job). Pick something original, classy, and exciting (So NOT Biggie - just cause it worked for Wallisch doesn't mean it will work for you). And remember, you're selling yourself, so make it something that explains you (the entire edit - not just the music).
Sorry I don't have any beats to pick from, but hopefully that'll help you pick one and get you a sick sponsor.
 
Yeah i know exactly what you mean. I wasn't really going for gangster shit but I get it. I was thinkin maybe Atmosphere or something techno like Dans le club (instrumental). Something to get them excited for giving me a sponsorship
 
if you're looking for atmosphere, you've probably heard this song before but i think it would work well in an edit. i've always wanted to use it but haven't had a chance yet

 
Oh yeah! Definately in the ideas for a promo song. I like this one, The Arrival, Trying To Find A Balance, Crewed Up, etc. etc.

I'm most likely using Atmosphere
 
how about some hip hop. when you want people to notice you the best thing you can do is do what everyone else is doing.
 
I may be wrong but don't you want to stand out instead of doing what everyone else is doing? I mean I was originally planning of using hip hop but i just wanted to get some more ideas
