Need car advice

ok so today the car that was going to be mine to use in 3 days died and im fucked. the car already has previous transmission issues and is really old to begin with. now its engine is fucked so i just know im not putting any money into it. so now i need a car. i need something cheap. it needs to get around my small town and to school and back. something that will run consistantly. it needs to get me to the mountain. i go to smuggs, i live in essex just outside of burlington. it doesnt need to go fast or anything, just needs to steadily climb to smuggs. im not going to push it or anything. i dont care if i cant go above 55. for mpg i would like soemthing at least 14 mpg. im not driving very far except for the mountain. that will be the farthest i ever go. i know this is incredibly random and brief but bare with me. what are your guys suggestions for a beater of the sorts?
 
ha yeah i really dont have a choice. i need a car. it is necessary. i get out of school really early and im not wating for the bus for 2 hours. fuck that. and im not biking 25 minutes each way to school every day. plus i need to ski.

try and get a used wrangler man. there sick cars for summer (winter not so much but still dope). i have a 99 wrangler and its manual. i get 19 mpg consistently driving around town, and the roof comes off, the doors come off, hell i can even take out the windshield. there pretty cheap i think (the older ones should be). i can fit my skis in (a little uncomfortable for the passenger but you can still fit 3 or 4 paris in (maybe 4 is pushing it) with people in the car). there sick!!!
 
Hah my dad is selling a 94 olds ciera (looks basicly the same) but for 3 grand, only 40k miles on it.
 
man wranglers suck for skiing, there is no room in them. and they are expensive even an old 90s YJ, plus unless you get a 96+ they ride like shit.

Look into a cherokee or grand cherokee from 93-95, get decent gas mileage, around 18 mixed driving. have 4x4 for the winter, plus can hold 4 ppl and all there gear in COMFORT!
 
dude ebay it. there are tons of cheap cars in vt. and who are u man. i live right around u. im probaly in ur school right now hahah.
 
jea my dad has one with 210000+ miles and a whole bunch of rust but it runs great and we have never had any engine/transmission problems
 
there's a difference between grand cherokee's and cherokees, the cherokees are smaller with the same engine but they weigh a lot less so they get better mpg
