My dad says he will drive up to 10 hours...I live in Northern NJ. I want to go somewhere new so here is a list of where I have been (Mount Snow, Stowe, Stratton, Sugar Bush, Killington,) Suggest me a place to go for feb break. Thanks

Was thinking about that, BTW I am looking for a mountain with both good trails so I can ski um with my dad and a good park.

When I went to Jay there was no park but they may have changed that. I know you said you didnt want to go to stowe but if you want good park and trails stowe is the best in Vermont.

Jay peak is sick. But its in the vermont. Le massif, tremblant are nice. Go to le massif if you can, the skiing is great, the view is sick imo, and you will have great time there.

definitely jay peak. i haven't been there in years but it is definitely one of the best mountains on the east coast. according to their website they have 3 terrain parks and a rail garden, although i have no idea how well the parks are maintained or what sort of features they have. as far as trail riding and glades are concerned though, Jay is pretty much unrivaled on the east coast. one thing to be aware of, however, is that there isn't much of a town. if you are planning on going out to bars, restaurants, etc. you might want to think about going someplace else. unless the town was dramatically rebuilt in the last 5 or 6 years, i wouldn't expect much.

le massif is great for pow and the view is sick but the park really suck

temblant is nice too, they have a good park but the problem with tremblant is there's a lot of person and you have long lift line

if you want a good park go to avila or bromont but the powder sucks(both of those mountain are really cheap)

You should just go to various northern VT mountains....Mad River Glen for a day, then sugarbush (even though youve already been), and then you can go up to Jay Peak.....and anywhere else around there that interests you

man im telling you, go to tremblant.

unreal park.

tons of glades.

village is sick

casino is sick

and french chicks.

tremblant is the best ski hill on the east coast by farrrrrrrrr

if your going to make way up to Quebec, head over to Le Massif. The best resort i have gone skiing at, and i have gone to mt st anne, tremblant and big white out west. Unreal snow, tons of tree skiing. incredible view. pm me if you have any questions.

Only thing about tremblant that can suck is the cold and wind. It can get pretty brutal up there sometimes. Other than that it's awesome.

-Nice big park.

-Fun trees when it snows

-Nice village with some sweet hotels

-lower drinking age (18)

-Good restaurants and on hill food.

I would also recommend Mont st. Anne and jay peak. All great mountains and you'll have a great time at all of them.

yo you could definatly lock up a solid deal online for 4-5 days out west...there really isnt anything that much better on the east coast unless you get some serious snow fall.

Jay Peak has great snow and terrain. Mt St Anne has good terrain as well and awesome night skiing, but I think if you wanna do east coast canada properly you need to go to Mt Tremblant and visit Avila while you're there.

Tremblant has the full package of an awesome park, good terrain and argueably the best nightlife on the East Coast. They have 3-4 parks, and if you come anytime after mid January you'll be able to ride the Southside park, that is ballin'.

Downsides of Tremblant as some people mentioned is that is can be busy on the weekends (take the single line) and it can be cold. But that's skiing. Man-up.

Make sure you checkout the Caribou.

obviously have never skied Jay or Massif. only thing Tremblant has over either of them is the park, other than that it's far behind.

Did you seriously just say Tremblant was the best mountain on the east coast?

yes it has a good park but that's it. It's a fuckng ripoff. Every trail is the same thing - groomers. A few good trails on the edge that's it. Hugeeeee lift lines, bad snow.

As far as nightlife goes? Way overrated. One ver expensive micro brewery that's about all.

Go to jay.... It's worth it. Or Stowe for a more well rounded mtn

massif !

it feels like you're skiing down all the way down to the water

tremblant has nice trails and a sick park

yes, ive skied jay AND massif. hence how i came to my conclusion.

you cant say tremblant is the best on the east coast without skiing all comparable resorts on the east coast.

and in my opinion, i like tremblant best.

deal with it bro.

yes, yes i did just say that.

the park is top notch.

what do you mean its a rip-off? lift ticket price wise, food wise, accomodation? its right on par with any resort i have ever been to?

id say they have alot more to offer then just groomers. the whole edge is sick, sunnyside has some nice glades tucked away, expo, boiling kettle, windigo, etc etc. venture on to the north side next time, pussy. all top notch.

huge lines, ya i agree, but dont ride the fuckin 6pack highspeeds. theres where all the noobs and cougars hang out. it gets clogged like any other resort.

bad snow? wut? i dont even know how to begin formulating a rebutal for that.

one very expensive micro brewery and thats it? you obviously toured the village with your folks. you can disagree that tremblant might not be the best east coast hill, but it has the best night life hands down. they have a casino for fucks sake.

lol if you think of going anywhere other than Jay your straight up retarded. and spend a day at Stowe too if you want on the way up

The guy asked for a place to go February break and you are recommending Jay Peak? Great place to ski don't get me wrong, especially if there's some pow, but its February break.

Everyone and their mother knows Trembs is the place to go during that week. Have you heard of reading week? Have you heard of the Southside park?

What do you know about the P'tit Caribou?

meh, i'm not convinced. And yeah, i've skied all that stuff believe me. I've hit edge on sick power days too and it was great. but I'd ski at Jay anyday over Tremblant.

Wayyy better snow, no lift lines, sick terrain, great trees and much cheaper.

I understand where you are coming from for sure- I have friends who are hardcore Tremblant devotees but it's just not my cup of tea - far too commercial.

Definately Jay, but make some stop on the way up or back. If you want to hit up a park you should stop at Mount Snow. Best park on the east coast

Tremblant is good in feb. great ski conditions, lots of bluebird days and south parc is at its prime. Tremblants night life is wicked and there is alot to do around the mountain other than riding. Buutttt there jay peak is opening a huge water park with poolside bars and a waverider(fake wave thingys) that is projected to be finished in december. Tremblant is deff the best all around hill in QC.

Bluebird days in Tremblant? The first time I went to tremblant on a pow day they opened the lift an hour early just for rich people who could afford it. Then they have such a high lift capacity and massive crowds within another half an hour the entire mountain is skied out. You'd be damn lucky to find a line of lift accessible fresh pow after lunch. Jay on a pow day and you can find freshies all day

I hated tremblant

it was super touristy and over developed and busy and icy and cold and fucking so windy. at the top it was -32C and there were 90kmh winds. it was fucking miserable. and their big park was closed so the progression park was packed

Depends on what you want to ski.

If you're dad is the Backcountry/outdoor activities/ likes to hike and everything. Then I'd say Chics Chocs.

If you love to ski pow, glades and so on. Get to Jay Peak. There's a few park up there but nothing big.

If you like to ski glades, good park, with tooooons of gapers and chineese, get to tremblant. The town is also nice to hang around as it's stated in the post above.

Massif could be dope too.

@ yuck. What did you expect? It's a village that is meant for tourists and of course it's going to be busy. It's one of the biggest mountains sound the east coast. I'm not sure if you noticed either, but generally winter in Quebec is fucking cold and east coast is icy. Get over it pussy, that's what you should expect. I feel sorry that you couldn't go inside their big park, it is very good compared to their small one. I've been to many places and I believe that massif gets the most snow out of anywhere on the east coast as it is on the river. It has the best pow groomed runs on east coast and has glades just not a lot of them. There park is a beginner one with one jump last year which was shut down because to Many kids were overshooting it- it was like a 10fter too. They had like 4 rails, none more that a foot high. Go to massif for beat Booker skiing and some trails, and go to tremblant for best park and some trails/runs. Oh and I forgot to mention the ste Anne is only 30 minutes away if you want to ski a better park. They have lots of sick rails but no jumps. The atmosphere at tremblant is a lot better to and is a very fun village. Casino & clubs and bars it sick. Food is pricey but that goes for every resort

TREMBLANT

grew up skiing at killy and made trips to tremblant a bunch... by far the best for night scene/exploring

Go to Northern VT and hit up Smuggs, Stowe, and Jay. All have awesome terrain. Stowe has a great park and terrain, but is also REALLY expensive and can get crowded. Smuggs has awesome trees, is usually the least crowded, and their slow lifts mean the trees get tracked up much slower. Jay has the most epic glades and terrain, and usually the most snow.
