if money isn't a problem:
alienware-m17x-m15x.jpg

probably one of the best laptops money can buy...

unless you want to game on your laptop, get a mac, honestly I have bought so many PC laptops, and after a while they always go to shit, I finally got a macbook pro, and its the shit, the thing still works pretty much 100% after a year, the screen is sooo nice, everything works so fluidly, and the construction is sick so sturdy compared to pc laptops. I dropped it out of my bag from like 5ft up onto concrete and almost zero damage.

My Dell is the bomb for me. I got it around $1000. but that was before Windows 7 came out so the price will go up most likely

"LAPtop"
idiot..

and here's a suggestion...go to the LAPtop store and check things out. read internet reviews. talk to knowledgeable salespeople at DIFFERENT stores. use this information to formulate you own opinion on what you should buy.

this.
They are really expensive, but save yourself the headache of virus' and other bull shit that WILL happen if you get a PC. I'm running the new aluminum macbook and I love it to death.

You can get a Dell with a Core i7 processor (new threaded quad from Intel) with 4 gigs of ram and 64 bit version of Windows 7 (with a 720p screen and an HD graphics card) for $999 from Costco.com right now.

In my opinion the 13" MacBook Pro is one of best notebooks money can buy right now. Get the upper level model--$1499, but if you can afford it, it will last you at least five years.

2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

4GB of RAM

250GB Hard Drive

SD Card Slot

NVIDIA Graphics

Unibody Aluminum Construction

Glass Trackpad

The feature list above might not seem like the greatest laptops in terms of specs, but Macs don't need as much raw processing power as a PC, in general. Plus you can jump to 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive if you buy online.

haha dumbest post ive read in the past month. macs are well constructed pretty pieces of shit. if you need to do any sort of number crunching or actual work with it go with a pc. i watched 3 different, brand new mac book pros crash after 5 minutes or so of trying to do an integral that took my XPS 5 seconds to do. if you want to look at facebook and photoshop some pretty little pictures though, macs are a great, way overpriced choice. but if you want your computer to actually compute then go with a PC

haha sorry if I don't do "actual work", whatever the fuck that is, and "integrals" on my laptop, I use it for mostly school work and watching movies and shit like 99% of people.

bottom line is pretty simple, if your an average consumer and not a stuck up faggot like adam astrnot then the mac is superior, and yes its more expensive... but cheaper than replacing your pc laptop every few months

Exactly. Macs have a typical lifespan of five years. I know people who have been using the same Mac for 7+ years. I had an HP laptop and it's been nothing but issues. The hard drive crashed, the AC Adapters kept falling apart... the list goes on and on. Not to mention having to talk to India every time something went wrong. Apple is worth it just for keeping its jobs in the US where they belong, IMO. My MacBook rocks.

Honestly macs are dece if all you do is listen to music and facebook. Otherwise, make the wise decision and get a pc. Alot of people hate on PC because they are too ignorant to realize they didn't research enough to buy a legit computer. I built mine for $900 and it is the most powerful computer I have ever touched. Quadcore 3 Ghz 8 GB's RAM etc. They also blame PC on getting viruses because they don't get a decent virus protection program. There are SO many out there that are free! Just about everything these days runs on a PC. Ive had multiple applications run into problems/not run at all on macs. You are also spending $300 extra on a brand name. You can buy a computer with the same specs as a mac for $300 cheaper. But really its almost completley preference, as well as how you will spend your time on it. I would recommend looking in kijiji or making friends with your local super nerd and ask him to inform you of a recent RAPEtastic deal on laptops.

click the right side of the touch pad mouse... pretty sure or press and hold or something

anyway, if you want something fast and affordable, your best options are going to be something with a smaller screen..

xps 13 or 15

macbook/macbook pro 13

asus

sony vaio

get at least 4gb RAM, 2.5 ghz, and core 2 duo or quad core

500gb harddrive wont fill up any time soon, and nvidia is the best graphics card out there

i dont recommend hp/compaq, dell inspiron, or any basic models because they are the cheapest for a reason.

i do recommend getting at least a 3 year warranty. i know guys that have been through a few macbook pros that were completely apple's fault, which just goes to show that any electronic can fail. even the popular ones that everyone recommends.

i got a 15 macbook pro mid level. never had a problem, had it for almost six months, no bull easy to use, fast, powerful

I just got a Dell Inspiron 1545 15" and its great with 4 GB RAM, a super fast core for everyday stuff, LED HD screen and 64 bit Windows 7. I got it all for $550 and its great, yeah macs are nice too but twice as much and not worth it IMO. And it came with 15 months free of anti virus so so that's not a problem. My only suggestion would be to get the Studio if you want to edit stuff

if your lookin for a cheap one, consider a lenovo. good for just browsing the web and gettin shit done.

not a great one if you have a shit ton of music and video though, the hard drive space is a little low.

pretty good performance for the money though. mine was less than 500 and it works great

ya so true. i used to be only pc, with 3 pc laptops and 2 desktops. they break/overheat and windows xp/vista/7 all blow. ive had my macbook pro for 6 months now and havent had one moment where i was ready to throw it out the window, flawless

you use two fingers instead of one, and you dont even need right click as much cause apple isnt retarded

faggot, yes. stuck up, no. anyone who knows anything about how computers actually work will generally stay away from macs

In my experience alienwares are the worst computers ever. I spent $4500 on an M9750 3 years ago and it was by far the worst computer I have ever used. The only benefit of buying an alienware is you can sell it a year later for enough money to buy a new macbook pro.
