need a d-spin tutorial

yo, i'm inept and and clueless, could an experienced spinner give me some advice on d-spins, its so elusive to me, i'm not some wannabee 9 year old trying to be cool, its a manuever i really want to figure out, i know exactly what they look like and what they consist of, i can't grasp its feeling i guess, when push comes to shove i can't come out of them, i dont think i start them right, i allways either throw a back full or just end up spinning 3 and landing on my back and side, what am i missing, could someone explain how they learned to throw them? or could someone describe what the body is doing in detail so i can see if i'm forgeting something, that'd be helpful too

if you can't do them on trampoline that's a problem. do it there first. that'll give you the motion. develop ur muscle memory for that motion and it should come out on skis. can you do corks on skis or having trouble with tehm too?

180 to misty... well if it works for you great, but that's not great advice IMO. Ok well you can break it up two ways, when you carve off the lip really cork the first 180 out so your stomach is facing the back to the lip and ground, keep the rotation going so after 360 your back is slightly inverted towards the ground and pointing back at the lip, now arch your back and crane your neck back and look over your shoulder as you twist your hips to follow your head. As soon as your head finds the landing keep looking at it and have your body keep twisting to meet your head at the landing. Hope it helped.

on tramp its pretty simple. 180 to misty is an ok way to describe it, if u can process that into motion. but its like a cork except at about the last 180 or so u go inverted. just think about doing a cork 7, if u can do them, and try to pull a little bakflip into it in the last 180.

learn them on trampolines and then learn them on snow. then you can represent AK.

Tramp is the way to go if you don't want to break you neck. But if you are going to break your neck throwing this trick make sure you breck it while doing this trick not while your learning this trick - that way you dont sound like a wannabe when you tell people

i've been watching clips of d-spins a ton lately and noticed right when some people take off they look as if they are reaching across and behind they're bodies, but then there are guys like candide who just plant a pole and seamingly drift into them, those look way sicker, like the spins all in the hips and shoulders

Yeah, Candide seems to do the pole plant thing alot. Watch his gap segment in TGR's Further, theres a really good d-spin. AS for instructions, i dont know what www.skiingmotion.com has, but it might be helpful to check the trick description for the D-spin. Good luck and dont break yourself.

yeah im pretty confused about them as well the way i see them is like a corked spin into backflip, the oppisite of a rodeo 7, where you sort of do the rodeo and the the corked spin?????????

hahahahhaa, retards

by the way, if you do a 180 to misty, you are doing a rodeo

THE SPRINKLER: get butt naked and then do a 1260 while taking a piss, i expect this trick to win many comps this coming season.

so i can't quite do them on tramps (so i don't know why i'm replying) but i think of it as throwing your right arm to your right knee, but the back of it. so yeah, pretty much 180 to misty, but only your upper body spins the 180, your throw it down just as you leave the lip which makes your body go horizontal and spin

a 180 to misty isnt a rodeo....how then, would you do a rodeo 5??? anyway, the 180 to misty thing is fairly accurate...the easiest way to lear (i think) is to learn a cork, then just go more inverted...so to do a cork 7, start off just doing normal 7s, then startn to lean sideways and back a bit, going more and more, tucking your head under more until you get it so that you're completely off axis...now, for the d-spin, do the same thing, but lean back more as you throw it, then after you make it around 540 watch for the tramp, and pull out....i dunno....that worked for me...the other option is trying to knock a back 360 off axis...same idea

180 to misty is NOT A FUCKING D-SPIN you FUCKING IDIOTS...go to skiingmotion.com and watch a vid of d-spins. a 180 to misty is a 180 to misty NOT A D-SPIN a d-spin is a realy corked out 7(that goes kinda inverted)/corked3 to off axis backflip/corked,laied out back full. NOT a 180 to misty.

You, you got what i need, but you say he just a friend and you say he just a friend. Ohh babby you got what i need, but you say he just a friend, but you say he just a friend - Biz

no, it's not a 180 to misty, but it's a lot like that. the motion is almost the same. you just don't spin 180, you twist your body. it's the same as going super corked, just another way to think about it.

yeah, you see...when i said think of doing a 180 to misty i meant THINK ABOUT THAT, because it's SIMILAR and it's hard to just suddenly know what a d spin is so this makes it EASIER and then you can actually figure it out...obviously it's not a 180 to misty, but it's pretty damn close, and if you cant figure out the rotation that helps a lot!!!

how many of you guys that replied can actually do them?

hey man, i was in the same boat as you. I just learned them today. first you want to do the 180 in the same direction that you spin in the misty. then, as you come around contine the motion into te misty. you should naturally spin perfectly and land. they are pretty simple once you get the hang of um. can't wait to try them on snow!

and dis big ol monsta comes outta nowhere and asked, 'you got treefitty?'

Whats 'treefity'?

What?!? you litta crackas don't know what thee fitty is?!?! tree dollas n fitty cents.

Oh he wanted money?

Yeah! da damn monsta wantd treefitty!

ok, i practiced on my trampoline, i'm sure i did back fulls, sideways corked 7s, 180 to misty 5's, i even tried a gainer spinning a three before i got inverted and i just landed on my back, i dont think i have it yet, god damnit :( how did dudes like candide, even raps, and mike d learn them so fast? i've tried every backward spinning flippy thing i could think of and it all comes out whack

alright I just tried the 180 to misty 5 and it works but I know a easier way. Just start doing big floated cork 720s, then once you are comfortable go into the motion of a cork 7 but instead of spotting up in the sky, spot down at the tramp...you'll come around. Just keep spinning you'll do a d-spin.

what are you talking about man? skiing motion only has d-spin 9s because the only d-spin 7 (buchar's) is just a cork, not inverted at all. And you can't do a D spin 9 as a 180 to misty 5. The best/easyest way to learn it is 180 to misty 5 because a misty 5 is really just an overcorked 5, so it makes a 180 to overcorked 5, which is a D 7. understand?

I replied and I can do them. Yea the throwing of the arm across the body helps you to get into the corked position of the first 3. After you first part of the corked 3 another tip on something that might help you w/ the backflipish part is spread both of your arms out like your on a cross. For some reason this helps the upper body stay oriented while you are reaching w/ your shoulders for the landing. And yea learn them on the tramp, I don't have a tramp, but I learned them after I did cork 7's on snow this year.
