Need a camera for around $850

Alright im looking for a videocamera to film skateboarding/snowboarding for under $900.

any suggestions?

Ya there have been a bunch of camera threads but i would like to know of anyone has worked with the Canon Vixia HF S100 (cant find a thread on this one) i have been looking into that for a while but just wanna know of there are any better options and the pros/cons of skiing with the camera. Thanks

It's nice with the 58mm threads and big censors but the AVCHD is a bitch. I don't really like the hfs100 friend owns one I don't find it that great I get much better picture out of my hv30 but that's just me. I don't mind capturing tapes because then you always have a hard copy in case something was ever to happen. Plus for skateboarding through a opteka 43mm or a century 43mm on the hv30 and you have one nice set-up.

Ya but with HD is there really any other option than the AVCHD? because if there is i have not heard of it, and i would much rather use solid state rather than miniDV tapes

dvcprohd and xdcam, but youre gonna have to drop 4-5gs on a camera that uses dvcpro and 6-7 on a camera that used xdcam.
