ok soon im going to just make an "offical lake placid water ramp info thread"
u MUST be a member of ussa or usasa to do them (which is kinda dumb) and you dont need a coach becuase there is one that works full time there and you can just get in with his training time (it usually goes tramping, ramping, lunchbreak, ramping then tramping or somethign in that order) and it costs around 60$ a day so like how much it cost for a lift ticket at some places.
and you need to bring your own gear (beater skis, helmet, boots, life jacket, etc.) and skis DO break occasionally so dont bring your new 08 models trying out how they feel. And idk about the olympic training center i think you can only stay there if you are apart of a camp but a hotel in town works fine there are plenty of cheap motels if you dont feel like paying alot. and if you are going call at least a weeks in advance just so they can mark you down on the schedule.
ALSO ON THE 25TH of august there is the huck n' tuck which is a comp to huck your meat andf there is a rail jam after wards and i dont think u need a usasa or ussa account since there are so many people there it would be a hassle. but its always fun and im not sure on the cost ill get more info it includes ramping, lunch and a little free gear usually and the prize is a season pass for next summer there (which cost around 500$ if you wanna sell it)
and some other shwag
