At least he competes for the USA. They gave 0 fun facts or stories about the two women competing for USA in the finals, and instead told us what Eileen Gu’s SAT score was. Like I get it she is from San Francisco but come on there are other US athletes you can talk about. Hell, They cut out the first few rails on one of Maggie’s runs even

the eileen gu fanboying is so fucking annoying, at least here cbc doesnt seem to be obsessed with her and her "perfection"
 
Yeah its pretty fucking wack and if I was someone like Maggie or one of the other US girls (we'll see if the trend continues in halfpipe) I'd be pretty pissed. I get that she's still a US citizen, but Eileen chose to ride for China, and she gets the same US media treatment like an Elena Meyers-Taylor or Chloe Kim. I get that NBC wants to focus on the heavy-hitters of each comp, but its not like we're getting sit-downs with the Norwegian nordic skiers or German bobsledders.

Can't have your cake and eat it too.

shaun white has been in the olympics for the past 16 years and has proven himself as one of the top snowboarders in the world the entire time. Gu is 18 years old and not even competing for America, if she likes china so much then go to college there/live there/etc.

Unfortunately NBC has their cake and eats it all brother, they've been planning this content for 2 years, she's the obvious choice to highlight while there are women's events happening, it has nothing to do with which country she is representing NBC dont give a fuck about that my dude.
 
I wonder if she gonna continue her training in china now and let them censor her to further honour her grandparents, or would doing that not be self serving enough?
