NBC is blowing it

I can second this source. So sad that this happened, +++ vibes to emilia, i know shell come back stronger and more motivated next year. It's just stupid dew tour made one stop and forced the athletes to compete it insane conditions. It clearly forced the field to do some things that where a little dangerous for the conditions seen in all the crashes & cases. What really ticked me off was that NBC went and told a lie, saying emilia fell on her first run (covering their asses). Pretty much every competition in skiing needs new staff to make an event run smooth, because every comp seems to be blowing it.

From what I read on Freeskier the injury occurred on her official second run not the rerun cause by the botched camera work.

Official run 1: Camera guy fucks up.

Run 1 rerun: She fell on the wall ride.

Official Run 2: Cased last jump = blown knee.

Still regardless of why this happened its shitty. Yes some fault lies with Allisports and the Dew Tour for not postponing the competition. However this is a double edged sword. Why did she not deem the conditions unsafe and choose not to take her run? I highly doubt someone from Alli or NBC told her she had to take her run. An Athlete should know when conditions are unsafe and when to perform and when not to perform.

Look back on Xgames a few years ago when Jon and Tanner both withdrew from the slopestyle competition because they deemed the course unsafe. Sure you can blame it on them being old and not wanting to loose to the younger generation, I myself realize that they were smart about what they would put themselves through. They had concerns, and they acted on them.

What I'm trying to say is the blame doesn't fall on just one party here. To pile everything on the shoulders of Alli and NBC is wrong. Emillia being an athlete should have realized an unsafe course/unsafe conditions, refused to run and dropped out. Personally I would choose not to compete if it meant possible saving myself from a season/carrier ending injury.

That's my opinion though, and I know I'm going to get hate for it.

I see where you're coming from, but, if you were in her situation you would have done the same. If you stomped a run that would have won, and then the results were lost, you would be hungry to get back out there and try to mimic your previous run. Also, theres no way to know that she knew there was no speed what so ever for the fourth jump. Its more their fault that she didn't end up with 25 large.

The point is that Emilia landed her first run, quite possibly would have been in first place, and might have gotten to take a victory lap at the end instead of hitting the jumps in ever deteriorating conditions

This is one of the worse screw ups i have seen. Its not Emlia's fault that the camera man missed the jump, so how can you ask her to go put it all on the line again in terrible weather and ask her to perform at the same level. This needs to be fixed, because she went up and did it again and look what happened she blew her knee up.

This was an awfully filmed event. It is terrible that

this happened to

Emilia. They also messed up on Taylor Seatons run then didn't show the second

and his runs are so creative and fun to watch. Then, they never showed Sean

Joardans second run, which landed him in 6th. Plus, there wasn't a single

decent shot from the big air event, which was held on a slopestyle jump. A

SLOPESTYLE JUMP! Lame sauce.

If you had a chance to win 25K and you qualified first 5 points ahead of anyone wouldnt you drop in as well? regardless of conditions.

The jump was actually pretty sick though. A lot better than any of the x games big air jumps. McMorris could throw down trips and the skiers threw down ill stuff too. Big air comps have been happening on the last jump of slopestyle courses for a long time.

Seems like they've been doing pretty well in the past, too bad this year sucked. The whole event was a disaster, I hope they can get their shit together int he future.

Allisports is also blowing it

they have so many dumb typos

they have changed them. but they had the name of a video for gus kenworthy's " double cork 1660" and then kai mahler they named it "switch double cork misty 1440 mute"

there are thousands of users on this website that would make better announcers for X games

i think im gonna make a video of all the dumb mistakes that the X games announcers have made.

That's so fucked. Also I was thinking, why is it even called the Dew Tour anymore if there is no touring involved? It should be called the Dew Stop, or the Dew Games

This year rather than having two judging towers as I understand it there was only one, and the judges relied on the TV to judge the top of the run, so the judges had no idea what she did on the second jump. It would just be nice if NBC would apologize or compensate Emilia, seeing as her season is over as of now. That camera man should just pay her 25k out of his salary.

Because the judges couldnt see her sick 7 on the second jump, so they had to call for a re run.

to red panda^ its the dew tour still because there is a surf stop, and skate stop, and a snow stop.

pretty much most competitions in my mind, dew tour especially this year, have turned into a total joke.

Yeah, Van Valin called that, and he was right. It wasn't a ski slide, pretty sure it was a switch(?) single ski 50

That's why you guys need Eurosport to handle this.

Probably the best sports coverage there is. With excellent commentators.

This, this so much, I don't understand why but their commentators are amazing, if they have their cameras at an event the shots are amazing and the WATTS compilation.

How can a tv channel be that good?

Did they not also have a live chat with their favourite bum sliding, hand dragging cunt, Shaun white instead of live streaming women's ski pipe finals? I know it's not the most popular of event but what the fuck? It's all about the money, they just don't give a shit about the riders, unless its Shaun.live stream was shit, judging was shit, filming was shit, shitshow of a comp.

This isn't about Emilia having to compete in bad weather, its about her putting down a winning run and the camera man screwed up so her run became invalid, she then proceeded to have to take an extra run in the bad weather. So it is completely on NBC for making her first stomped run invalid.

This.

You guys are being lame. It sounds crass, but no one caused her to blow her ACL. SHE blew her ACL because SHE wanted to win.

This is like blaming Matchstick for McConkey dying.
