This was FUCKING ridiculous. The fans in Detroit are OUT of fucking line.

This was IN NO WAY the fault of any player or coach at all, merely the arrogance, stupidity and fucking retardation of the Detroit fans.

They're the lowest of the fucking low. They know they can throw shit and yell shit because the players can't retaliate, or they'll be fined by their team, or worse, sued by a fan.

I am so fucking glad somebody finally decided to give back to the fucking assholes in the stands what they deserve. I'm a Celtics fan; I hate the Pacers, but man was I fucking glad to see Artest and O'Neal fucking rip some heads off.

The fans who got hurt got what they deserved and most probably got less hurt than they deserved.

I don't even know why this made me so fucking angry, but I'm watching Sportscenter before skiing, and now all I want to do is take a shotgun to the head of each fan who threw a drink or a punch at that game.

This type of fucking unacceptable behavior has been going on by fans from years, and it's high time a player gave them what they needed; a swift punch in the jaw.

as a pistons fan, michigan native, i wasnt pleased with tthe behavior of the fans. ARTEST STARTED IT LONG AGO. REMEMBER THE CHEAP SHOT AT RIP DURING THE CONFRENCE FINALS. HUH HUH< yeah got ya there

THAT FIGHT WAS SO AWESOME. I already hated the NBA, so now I hate it even more, and I still hate the players with their outstanding criminal records. What would a fan expect when he throws shit at a player whos a convincted felon, for the felon to go up to him and offer peace...hell no, he's gonna go up there and kick that stupid white boy's ass.

That was a dumb thing to say. So many sports players have the same shit on thier records. Its just that NBA has a player 2 feet close to a spectator. They can touch each other if they want too. NO other sport has that oppurtunity. Of course if people are throwing stuff at you and you know who it is your gonna fuck thier shit. It could've happned in any sport, its just that NBA it was the easiest.

No, I hate the NBA, love the fights, because they are fun to watch. The fights will make people dislike the NBA more which is good.

I know the fact that the players are so close to the fans, that that had something to do with it, but really, has this ever really happened in another sport, when players charge after fans, and try to beat the shit out of them. Not like one fan, like it is ususally, but it was a ton of fans that were attacked(not that they didn't deserve it). There was even that thing in Okland, where the baseball player threw the chair at the fan, but here we have almost every fan throwing crap at players and player fighting back.

The main point I was trying to make earlier was that the fans were really stupid to throw crap. But did you see the white guy in the black shirt as the Indiana player charged him? He kept on saying crap to him, until he got 5 feet from him, then he says, 'HOLY SHIT!' the look on his face was priceless.

I don't understand what you are saying. Baseball is somewhat easy to go to fans, and it dosen't even matter, it all depends on the stadium. I just hate the NBA, and fights are fun to watch, so whatever man.

 
most sports have glass walls or something. In hockey a guy pulled a fan into the box and kicked his ass, but it can't get more out of hand than that really

the pistons fans are rediculous. homestead just because there is a heated rivalry between players doesnt mean that the fans cna throw bottles at the players. there has been alot of bumping and fighting but the fans havent ever gotten in the fight like this before. the pistons fans name has been tarnished and it wont ever go back to the way it was. not for at least five years

 
Dude fuck that. The pistons fans were no more at fault than Artest and O'neil. Those motherfuckers jumped into the stands and attacked multiple people. I would feel the need to retaliate too. Kick those niggers out the league.

yea, this one guy said he thought that Artest should get into trouble for punching him. He then went on to say he went on the court and then got punched. If you run on the court yelling shit at Artest, your done. It was the fans fault just as much as the players.

 
i'm pretty sure i don't condone what happened, but god damn was that some good entertainment! that huge fucker in the grey sweater landed so many punches. i've watched far less entertaining boxing matches

that was a fucking insane fight, jermaine oneal had a running fucking start and he put everything into that punch when he decked that one guy with the long sleeve pistons shirt on, that was fucking crazy, i was so baked when i first saw the videos of the fights and it tweaked me the fuck out, but i dont know whos at fault here, its a fuckin mess

I agree with you EastCoast, except for the part where you said the fans got what they deserved. What about the elderly woman who got a broken leg? Did she deserve that? I didn't see her throwin any punches, but I guess she might have deserved it in some weird twisted way.

Artest, Jackson, and O'Neal - suspended for the remainder of the season (maybe longer?) There go's Indy's playoff hopes!

from what i can tell, wallace only should get a few games, he started a fight with another player, its happened plenty of times before. i didnt see him up in the stands beating fans like the pacers players were.thats just uncalled for. basketball players are professionals, its their job to entertain people, you dont see movie stars getting into fights with fans if someone doesnt like their movie, do you?

 
wow those fans are dickheads. they're the ones to blame for that. fights happen all the time, but fans just turned it into that.

oneal, artest and rasheed are suspended 'indefinitely'. as for the players reactions, i can see them brushing off comments directed towards them and family and whatnot, but as soon as they are assaulted, not one person in the world would have acted any differently than ron artest. also, as soon as fans spilled onto the court, they are fair game to get their shit knocked out. i feel no sympathy for the fans, and feel the pacers players who were provoked were defending themselves and should get a pass. the next game in detroit between the pacers and pistons should be played without fans or any audience to punish the pistons fans and organization.

 
see if i was the head of the NBA, i'd let each fan, one at a time, go head to head (in a fight of course) with the player of their choice, no weapons or anything. Then see whos gonna get beer poured on them now. The only reason the fans poured beer and threw shit was because they KNEW the players couldnt do anything from their at that time current position. At any other time, they'd be biting the curb like no other

Either way, the fans were fucking cowards and if any of them sue for damages (which I'm sure dozens will) then I am going to personally fly to Detroit and kick the ass of every fan involved in the fight, Jay and Silent Bob style.

Many of the fans fighting just fought because they're poor (Detroit is one of the poorest cities in the country, no offense to any of you who live there, it's just a fact) and are extremely jealous of the NBA players' big-money contracts, and this is a disgustingly cowardly way for them to get out some of that aggression and envy.

The whole thing made me very mad, and I first saw it at about 6 AM this morning, and I was hardly awake, and it was all very surreal, the whole thing seemed out of a movie or a dream. Anyways, fuck those pussies.

Wallace should not have been suspended. Artest's foul was uncalled for. Typical Artest though. He is crap and always has been crap. He is a waste of space on the court, always starting fights.

Wallace is one of the last respectable people in the NBA. Hopefully his suspension will be lifted. ANyone that attacks a fan should be suspended indefinitely. I dont care that the fans threw crap. Artest is huge and for him to go into the crowd and start punching some scrawny fan is more out of line than a fan throwing objects at the players.

i lost respect for ben wallace, and he was out of line pushing artest, however he is still amazing at basketball. i also definately thought that artest/o'neal shouldnt have attacked fans, because that was pretty rediculous, especially o'neal's crazy suckerpunch on that fan. i love watching basketball being played with intensity, but that was nuts.

Yes, NBA players fight, and last nights was no acception, but it got out of hand, more than a regular shoving match/brawl, and the fans involvement made the situation 100x worse. so to mr stern remember that when handing out suspensions, if the fans wernt involved, it would have 99% likely ended after the first altercation with the players, but...RIDICLIOUS and it will hurt the NBAs image...player suspensions and fans should get charges pressed.

that had to be one of the worst moment in sports history it's tough to say how long suspensions will be, because the fans are to blame but i think they should be all year for the pacers players and about 10 for wallace, but the player most out of line was jefferson, artest had something thrown at him so he has reason to go(it's still out of line that he went though) but jefferson just went in and started swinging freely

Well i just finished watching sportsnet news, and the suspensions are: Ben Wallace, Oneil, Artest and Another Pacer, Suspended Indefintly.

On Another Note, there was a NCAA football game that was called with 5 mins left in it becasue of a brawl, the cops were in breaking it up, but no fans were involved. I cannot remember the teams but i am trying to find it on the internet.
