Nate Balli Demo Reel

This is a reel from a classmate of mine that I thought would be appreciated by the M&A community. He does some work for Red Bull and companies mostly around Salt Lake. His graphics are killer and has serious skills in post and behind the camera.

Holy post production batman.

IDK About everybody else here, but personally, that had WAY too much editing. In my mind I think of a reel as a showcase of your filming skills. This reel showcased more of his editing skills. Maybe thats the type of work he's looking for, but I can't really watch it as a "reel" when its got a higher ratio of AE editing than actual filmed shots. Don't get me wrong, the shots he did have in there were great, but I would've liked to see more of his actual filming skills.

There is an audience for his type of work. Especially in the advertisement field. His work was great and takes a special skill, by saying it isn't a reel just because he put in shots of his graphic design skill is just wrong. Not to mention putting in shots from recent gigs that include redbull and kicker, are really going to help him land more jobs.

Well this is what I said in my above post, I didn't know if he was trying to appeal to people that need someone with his skill. Don't get me wrong, I liked it a lot, but thats just how i think of a reel.

I liked it a lot as well. For me, i think a reel is your best collection of work showcased into one little montage. this guy's strengths are obviously in post and after effects, but still a reel i think nonetheless. pretty sick and i bet he has hella jobs lined up for lots of local comercials stuff, if not he should

holy motiontrack batman

but seriously this man has a huge future in filming and editing for practical (aka NOT SKI MOVIES) videos and commercials. Very impressed

A reel demonstrates your skill sets.

In this case, this kid is very good with AE & Cinema 4d.

He is a motion designer as well as a cinematographer, thats why he had both.

Very good, but I would like to see an improvement on some of the video footage.

It is really common for motion graphic designers and ad videographers to include it in there reels.

This is one of my favorites!
