Natasha Richardson bleeding in the brain on the bunny hill...

Just reading the comments posted on the New York Times website about this and some ass had the audacity to post "what the hell was a 45 year old doing trying to learn to ski in the first place?"

How sad that she died and this asshole is still out there...

thats nuts that she was straight up killed from hitting her head on the bunny slope. I've fallen from over 20 feet in the air directly to my goggles/face and only had a black eye and barely even a concussion.

It seems like there had to be something else or it was a complete fluke.

But this sucks for the ski industry. I mean all of those people that were thinking about skiing might now think about natasha richardson and not try it. This one girl I know is like freaked out by the thought of skiing. She always says how dangerous it is even to ski on the bunny slope. LOL

You'd be surprised how badly a beginner, ADULT skier can hurt themselves. They are usually so scared of falling they hurt themselves very badly when they actually do fall. I had a student tear her ACL on a similar bunny slope, and I've seen broken bones galore as well. Unfortunately, some people are simply not athletically oriented, or not meant for skiing. It's very sad that these things happen...

my parents saw this and they were like now you know why we dont let you go skiing in your freinds backyards. i was fml

dude, youre not a god. anyone can fall on the mountain and hurt themselves. if youre not wearing a helmet and you fall/crash/hit a tree/whatever, its your own fault.

um unlucky seizures suck big time i had one once it was proly one of the scaryest things that ever happened to me and i got run over by a boat before so yea

I think you're missing his point.

But the reason we don't get hurt when we fall is that we know how to fall. Falling correctly is important to preventing injury, as dumb as that may sound.

good point - i agree.i guess i shouldnt have quoted him.

i only mean that anyone can hurt themselves at anytime, anywhere - no matter their ability. thus its your choice whether you wear a helmet or not, and if you choose not to, it's your own fault if you get hurt. we've had this problem at my local mountain, though not with such horrible consequences.

but in this case there had to be a preexisting condition. it just doesn't fit. either way, RIP.

exactly.... i mean shit if you say you dont fall ur lying and ur doing something wrong every one falls.... but u havr to fall properly! haha i did a lincon loop and hit my head hard my my head wasnt the first thing to hit so its all about falling properly ha
