Natasha Richardson bleeding in the brain on the bunny hill...

my dad just told my mom after seeing this tht i wasnt wearing my helmet last weekend............

she wasnt wearing a helmet, she fell on the bunny hill felt kinda ok some skier person took her back to her room. about and hour later she had bad headaches and it turns out she had a bad brain injurie or somthing RIP

Everything I have seen on this has been seriously conflicting. Does anybody know what actually has happened. This is scary though. I smashed my face today and kinda have headaches, but that was 12 hours ago, pretty sure its just a mild concussion. I hope she is ok though

Shits strange how gapers can take the smallest crashes and seriously hurt themselves, while we just huck ourselves and normally bounce up just fine.

it's all about knowing how to fall, usually if you watch a gaper fall they are trying so hard not to fall they then get wrecked. On the other hand, we know when we are going to fall and accept our fate and fall, however when we fall we let our body go slightly limp (just enough to avoid injury) and we fall properly.
This is a tragedy, it's upsetting to think that a simple fall on a simple trail can lead to this. RIP

TMZ is refuting the brain-dead part.
that and also there could be other factors as to why she is bleeding in the brain from such a seemingly minor fall. Either way, looks really bad for her.

It's true everything I read on it seems vague and it's all different info...either way, it's such a sad little story, I mean, she was just out for the day to try some skiing...scary to think how easy things can happen. I wish her and her entire family the best!

Yeah that's really fucked up and sad, my mom called me last night to tell me about it and told me to wear a helmet. RIP

It's really sad that this happened to such a talented, innocent person. And I think we should all pray for her and her family over the next couple of days. But, I don't think this should scare any of us from doing a sport we love. Look at the facts, she was rather inexperienced, and, the most important one, she wasn't wearing a helmet. So, the way I see it, just cap your melon and ski smart and I don't think you have to worry about something like this happening to you. People die in car accidents everyday, yet chances are you've already taken a couple of drives today and you're still here. That being said though, I still feel horrible that this had to happen to anyone. I wish her and her family the best of luck. God bless.

thats why everyone should wear helmets

and eat the brains and eyes of the litle children who dont

i eat everyones eyes anyway

I wear my bucket not because of my skiing .. I'm effing amazing. (duh!) But you guys all see that gaper bombing straight down the hill poles farther apart than Santa's belly to his back, wide-eyed, open mouthed? Yeah, THAT is why I protect myself.

anyway, anyone have any news on her? I have yet to hear anything conclusive.

She really was a great actress by the way. For those of you who can't figure out who she is, she was the mom in the Lindsay Lohan version of Parent Trap.

RIP

I was thinking "what a pampered rich B" when I read that she got "critically injured" on the bunny hill and how is that even possible unless you play up your injury... Wow was I wrong. RIP

Is the ski instructor a member of NS? I wanna hear their side

its sad, and scary... i still dont understand how she got so hurt from such a small fall? rest in peace, hope her kids make it through

It's off topic a little, but a couple years ago in Fernie I had a friend who was a snowboard instructor. He had a chick who was a beginner - my friend took her to the bunny hill to work on her riding. Somehow she managed to break her femur... as to how you break your femur on the bunny hill is beyond me.

as sad as this accident is, its so rare and bizarre - however poeple aren't going to realize this and think skiing is overly dangerous. which will bring up the safety aspect - one that does NOT need to be brought up.

i hate when that happens. it happened in the mx communitee 2 months ago when lusk died. everyone started making a big deal about how hard backflips are to do and that he died trying to do land a backflip.

like any sport theres always a risksome people huck double back flips, do huge cliff hucks and ski 60 degree slopes and survive while other die in avalanches doing the same. some people ski their whole lives and never get hurt but sometimes accidents happen no one can control when where or how, it just happens look at travis steeger a skier that did BC and flips and tricks that could have hurt or killed him yet he gets hit by a car... life is unpredictable and sometimes very brutalvery sad, tremblant is very close to me id like to say a little prayer for anyone that has died doing something they loved this year and especially those taken from us far too soon. Rest In Peace

word, a buddy of mine died, who i knew from mx, because of a heroin o.d that he got from some kid at school on accident

RIP. Such a sad, out of nowhere incident.

Really makes you think about life, death, destiny, fate, etc. Such is Life I guess...

I read this in my photo class, my teacher is a big skier, and I was talking about how I just bought a new helmet (I always wear a helmet when I ride or ski). My teacher was like "I never wear a helmet, if you can't control yourself on skis then you should ride less difficult stuff." And I'm like.. Man, I'm a decent skier, but I hit my head a lot, and he fucking flipped out at me, told me I should stay off rails until I learn all my shit on the small stuff and that helmets are just "Giving people a false sense of security, and it makes them try stuff they can't do". Then he proceeds to say its sad that this lady died, but she shouldn't have been on the hill in the first place if she sucked so bad at skiing.

I just wanted to punch the bastard... She got killed on the bunny hill.. There was nothing easier for her to learn on... If she had been wearing a helmet she would still be alive.. I can respect people who don't want to wear helmets... But calling people stupid for not wearing helmets and being disrespectful to people who are trying to learn makes me mad as fuck...

Man thats just so crazy, from what Im reading, she didnt feel injured and later she had a headache and then bam. I cant think how many times ive hit my head enough to have a headache and do nothing about it. I mean damn, life is gone just like that and to think it could be just like that is scary. RIP

word. ur right... a couple weeks ago i got 40 stitches in my mouth and got a pretty bad concusion... then i read about her and its like holy shit im so lucky. scary stuff

Used to teach at the hill that this happened at when i was younger, moreover it scares me that such tiny falls can have such terrible consequences. My girlfriend just started skiing and her teacher told her he thought helmets should be made compulsory among beginners, now i see what he means. Really sad news.
