Nasty New East Coast Park!

East Coast riders........you'r never gonna belive this. i work for Cranmore, and just got got back from an all day meeting on a new park design. We hired Chris Gunnison (designer of the US Open, X-Games, and Parkasaurus parks to name a few)to come out and put Cranmore on teh map. We spent all day on the mountain and came up with a kickass design. An entire run dedicated to just park, with 7-10 big jumps (even a 60+ showtime booter at the end) and 11 rails (6 ft high rainbow, big kinked, 30' ledge, and more), and even a seperate sno-skate park. its also gonn abe lit at night. this is for real, and Chris is a wicked chill dude who knows his shit. So ya all you Valley kids.........come ride at Cranmore!

kinda funny, how people lump 'east coast people' together in one big group. if only that were true. like, i may live an hour away from mt snow, so I go there usually. Cranmore is on the east coast, but it's like 6 hours away, so not too likeley I'll get there much. oh well. sounds sick there, definietly have to check it out this winter. I heard waterville had all sorts of cool stuff this year.

Ya, Cranmore is in North Conway, NH. And this park is gonna blow Attitrash's outta the water. ABout 2 hours north of Boston on Rt. 16

my god... if this is as good as it sounds, I am going to friggin live there. that is sooo nasty. Threedom pass will rule. Waterville is always sick, as is loon, nad now, cranmore is going off... shit ya.

My friend asked me if i wanted to lay out or go water skiing, and thats when i realized that i dint want to answer this question and or any other aquatic sports question and i didn't want to see any of these people again. Next thing I new I went nuts.

attitrash's park already blows so any park that is half decent, gets groomed daily and the pipe is cut more than once a month is better. supposedly we are getting a superpipe, but it probably wont be groomed cuz attitrash sucks. thats cool cranmore supposedly is getting a good park, i hope it all works out and we get lots of snow.

as for whoever sais east coast sux we dont give a shit that u live close to whistler we live on a less snowier climate than u are mts. arent as big as u but we ski and have fun doing it so shut the hell up

I live on the Canadian East coast... It's probably a good day's drive out there. I'll just stick with Tremblant next season. It's 2 hours away.

sorry guys, no pipe at cranmore this year, but a superpipe is in the future if we get a lot of riders this season. Loon will have a superpipe tho, better then last years. and to k2skeepimp.......your lucky, to live so close to whistler, and i wish i di too. but i dont, and that fact that you can ski at a nasty resort all the time doesnt make you bette rthen us new englander kids. we'll take what we can get, and finally, we're gettin somethin halfway decent

attitrash's park is always icy, and it blows, hard. Superpipe or not, you know it's still gona suck.. Oh well, i ksi there once a week for ski team, hopefully the pipe will be dec.

that's rad that Gunny was at Cranmore. No doubt the design is sick...Gunny is one of the very best at laying out parks and designing rails. With design in hand the mountain should be better this year. But I wouldn't get to ovr hyped just yet cause the mountain still has to built the park. Gunny is the head of all Booth Creek Resort's parks so it is unlikely he woulod actually be at cranmore in a cat to build the park. I could be wrong though. I'm just saying that if he isnt there to build it himself I doubt that Cranmore could build his design to the standard that Gunny's reputation and experience implys. Dont get me wrong, I'm not baggin on Cranmore, I'm sure that the park will be much better this year and it's awesome to see that management went out and got help from one of the very best in the business. Great parks aren't just built overnight, it's taken years for places like summit,whistler,mammoth and breck to fine tune there park building skills. Hopefully for every one in hte area cranmore is in this for the long term. If they are then this is a great start and all you NH/VT freeriders have alot to look forward to.

sounds ill man. well have some sweet sessions upthere this year. im pumped. ya threedomis the way to go this year i had it last year and went to cranmore like once. ill be there alot more this year mos def.

 
yes many people need to come there so there's more of us, there's literally about 6 kids who ski there regularly who do new-school. They also usually have some pretty good bumps on Koessler.

your right, great parks are not built overnight and gunny will not be there to build it, but one of the ski patrol who is oretty in touch wiht what to do is going to build it from gunnys layout design. and theres going to be a few kids (maybe me) who are going to be fixing hte jumps and giving lots of input as to what to do. so hopefully we can keep it looking and working good, yall should come check it out and let someone knwo what you think cause this year there gonna want ALOT of input especially form kids.

 
Cranmore is crazy. The terrain park is wicked nice too, I broke my leg there, but it is still awesome. it's cheap too. I used to be able to get in for 19 but now i have to pay 30, oh well thats still cheap.

 
thats steeez i'll def be there quite a bit if its as good as you say...waterville is also stepping it up because our team gets pretty much to lay out our park design for the year and we have SOOOO much input on whats goin down in that place...

yeah this thread is definatly a year old...and i went to cranmore last year to night ski the park and it sucked...they had shitty jumps, it was icy, the rails weren't that good, and the lighting absolutely sucks, it's so dark you can hardly see the landing...doesn't really matter who designs your park if they're not actually building it...I'm sure it was better than past years and attitash's park did kind of suck last year but at least we have a half pipe and some decently laid out jumps

well...this year it will diffently be stepped up. I work at cranmore in the freestyle program and park stuff...and we have about 10 or so new rails and boxes.. and the park is going to be managed by a new person as well as groomed by an experienced park groomer. So, this year will be ten times better then last year....trust me...this season is going to rock.

idk, but i think that if i drive 4 hours to NH in the winter (i do it every summer, but....) i'm gonna go hike tuckerman's, not a park. but that's sick. sounds really cool for cranmore....

that sounds really sick! although, i wouldn't trade it for living in the west. personally, i'd rather have more extensive terrain
