Nashoba Valley

Also, this Sunday (January 15) there will the the first of three competitions in the Nashoba Valley Freeride Series. The event will be a rail jam; registration begins at 8am, practice starts at 9am, and the competition begins at 10am.

the only features that were not great were the down flat down, the brick wall and the flat rail to butter box could use a touch up. So fun otherwise. You could take out the brick wall maybe and it would be a nice table to warm up on. Also if you took out the butter box after the rail and built up the kicker that would be fun. And the dfd and handrail were not waxed enough and were rarely ht. Just trying to help out the park crew with feedback.

Thank you for the feedback ZaNdEr, comments on the park are always welcome. The 16' flat pipe to 16' wood dance floor was worked on by the park crew yesterday, and looks perfect now. As for the brick wall, handrail, and dfd...people have been hitting those features pretty regularly from what I can see, so I doubt they will be taken out until a new park set up takes over (happens all the time).

I suggest that next time you're in the park and one of the features seems a bit off, let someone in the park crew know. It's their job to keep the park maintained, and I'm sure they'd appreciate anyone letting them know a feature needs to be touched up before the problem gets worse.

You can go inverted at competitions. Unfortunately, aside from that, inverts are not allowed.

There is a Nashoba Valley Freeride Series slopestyle competition on Sunday, January 29, and a big air competition on Sunday, February 26th. Those events are free, as long as you have a lift ticket. There are also USASA slopestyle competitions on January 22, February 5, and March 4.

Registration starts at 8am, practice starts at 9, and the competitions starts at 10. This applies to all competitions

Feel free to throw inverts at these competitions.

Inverts aside, there is a rail jam this Sunday, January 15, at the same time as all of the other competitions. It is the first event in the Nashoba Valley Freeride Series, so it is free with a valid lift ticket. Hope to see you all there!

AND

THERE IS A NEW FEATURE IN THE PARK

There is a corrugated pipe ledge next to the first jump. Shoots you out onto the right side of the jump's landing (out of the way of where people will land from the jump).

Have no fear! Even with all this rain, the park crew will be working on a new park build tonight. Get stoked.

Also, for the rail jam, there will be new, unique jibs set up specifically for the competition. So get stoked for that too.

Such a fun day. Me and my brother and friend went out for the railjam to day. I got 2nd for 14 and under(Im 14) and he got 1st. We got some prizes and had a lot of fun there. My brother filmed the whole comp(some of yall might be in his video) so ill post an edit later...

Features are as follows: Wooden wallride that is steep to almost flat. You can hip into the side or hit it straight up as a stall. There was a tire tap after the wallride that was set up on a qp style jump. You could also air a table to the left or right of it. Then to the right of the tire, there was a rail angled towards the qp/bank you could hit it after the hip off the wallride and you landed in a steep downslope on the side.

Btw props to the nashoba park crew for the prime set up and also the nashoba team for throwing down in the 15 and over section.

Unfortunately right after the competition my friend fell badly on the down flat down box. He is currently in the ER getting it x rayed. So get well soon buddy.

My Friends Edit. He's in The Red LDC and Khaki Pants. Its his first test with his new 60d.

To everybody who showed up to the competition yesterday: thank you for coming, good job slaying it, and congratulations to the winners! Everybody threw down at yesterday's rail jam; the first event in the Nashoba Valley Freeride Series. Here's an edit from yesterday's footage:

As for the current park situation.....

If you were here yesterday, you would have noticed that the park has been replaced by massive piles of snow. Thanks to Nashoba Valley Snow Making, we now have much more snow to work with in the park. The park has been closed all day today (Monday, January 16, 2012) but will be open within the next day or so with a new park set up. There will be a mini park built within the next week, but as of right now, the mini park is the only terrain park that is open, and it is just the last few features of the Sundance Terrain Park (dfd and flat box at the bottom). Swing by and check it out!

Check out pictures, video, description and results from the competition yesterday here at the skinashoba.com news blog. Keep checking it out every day or so for updates on the mountain!
