ok so for they select few for have the opportunity to ski at nashoba valley, plans for a new park have been made. It will be located on indian run (strait trail by sundance), the planned layout is follows:

-rollers, for speed

-into a hip on skiers left

-2 takeoff table

-32ft flat bar, rainbow, and 12ft flat rails section

-quarter pipe facing uphill this year(dont expect it to be very good, as it will be hand cut)

snowmaking for the park will commence tomorrow, monday (hopefully)

look for it to be open by next week, or this weekend, hopefully i will be able to get in on building the thing, so im looking to make the rails to be better than last year, (as in raised up off the ground)i cant promise anything for the jumps tho

dont expect anything but a lil place that might make cold nights more entertaining

northeast club, you know how we do

oh ya alos, i heard people talking about a flat to down kink, but i dont think that will happen, evryone who works here is far to unmotivated

busta, where have you gotten this info from? I work at Nashoba and am there 6 nights a week, and haven't heard word one about a park. And the main jump in front of the lodge hasn't really even been cut properly at all yet.

Yeah, they've been blowing a lot of snow, and they are now focusing on the ''less skied trails'', but you'd think they'd get one jump cut properly before trying to cut a few others.

And I'm sure Betsy would throw a shit fit if we had that many jumps and rails (not that I don't think we should, I just think Betsy needs to be a bit more open minded and realize that properly cut jumps will cause less injuries - but everyone that skis Nashoba knows what Betsy's oppinion of jumping and everything else is).

Hopefully they will have something good, and I'd really like to know where this info is coming from, because I would be more than willing to lend a hand getting everything set up.

yah im there 5 days a week.. it isnt gonna happen

I was there last night, and its actually taking shape. It looks like two hits, and a sort of quarter pipe at the bottom of the park, sort of like Sunday River's layout. Which actually looks preety good. Best attempt to make a park there ive seen.

I first thought that the quarter pipe at the end of the trail was a big air type of thing, I was all pumped. But it was just the 1/4 pipe. Which is still cool.

I was there sunday and it greatly improved in three days. I heared it was going to maybe open tomarrow or the next, but hopefully by this weekend.

I also heared that the Ski Market at nashoba was putting on a competition on the park. Maybe on the 25th? I would guess Feburary.

So it actually looks preety nice. One of the Sienior ski instructors asked a ski patrol guy if he could just take a run through it. and doesn't hit anything, and when he comes out at the bottom, guess who he sees, Betsey. She asked him why he was in there and he said that he was let in. Yet she still says he shouldn't have. The guy going through the park was in no shape some guy that was going to go over any jumps. And he just skied off while she was talking. So I guess she will be restricting the park. But it looks preety good this year.

I got a sick digital camera this year, (Cannon G3) it has some nice modes and I might take some picks too see if I can get some people interested.

Busta, do you work as a ski instructor? Im a newbe there (1st Year) so I dont know if you have seen me, I have an older model skogen, the one with the train and graffiti. With look p10's. Ill probably see you there some time.

do to the quarter pipe what we did to bradfords last year...on one side of it get rid of the vert and use it at a booter and land on the back side...after about 5 or 6 hits you should have a nice(r) landing area

the parks gonna be good. i was there yesterday and they need noew rails. they are all twisted and rusted to no end. its gonna take a month to get one sanded down smooth

i was there today the park is open. no rails yet and the quarter is almost done. i dont know if its high enough you might just shoot onto the deck

Uhhh... Nashoba? THE Nashoba Valley? With the one lump in front of the lodge that they call a jump? Rails? Pleaaase. Betsey would never let anybody near a rail. She'll light them on fire.

yeah well here is the deal.

Mr FLetcher, the owner was on tv, and they asked him if they have a terain park. He said yes and it is opening up on saturday. That night he put a shit load of snow on Indian Run and it started to get built. It was cloesd and on thursday, me and a bunch of snowboard instructors went in. It was crazy, it was like perfect. The landing was soft and the lip was chrisp. It opened on friday and things declined from them. Once the schools came it got preety bad. well. Best ever park for nashoba. but its not as good as it was. it just requires more pop on the lips.

So this way, no patrol can do anything. except watch when the instructors make jumps or fix rails.

The 1/4 pipe is straight death. Its like 20 feet long and I know that some kid is going to bomb off it and land on his ass and like die. its not open yet

Today they were blowing snow like crazy everywhere, and more on the park. and at around 8pm they were working on it for like 2 hrs and still working strong. They noew have two rails open. and more snow everywhere.

Its nice for nashoba. I am happy. Very happy. :)

Is the quarter open yet? I am there this thursday and I will check it out. They put a lot of snow on sundance, I have no idea why. Anyone know?

Don't hit the quarter pipe, its like hitting a wall at full speed. Not cool. No vert at all. it could be better if they fixed it a little.

their rails are terrible. the jumps are good for nashoba, and the quarter pipe curves around past vert. yes, it is like hitting a wall at full speed.

the jumps aren't all that bad, but still not great, they have not been maintaining them. The knuckle on the first table has been completely broken and the whole jump is pretty rutted. But, if you hit the sides you can have a decent landing. The second jump is a bit rutted as well, and the landing is complete ice (and I've personally only seen a handful of people clear the right side).

...and the quarter-pipe is pure death, I don't know why its even still there.

The whole park needs to be reformed, and I guess its going to be for the comp on sat. However, I still think they're gonna need more than a day (I believe they only have one day set aside) to reform the park in order to hold a comp.

that right side jump is impossible to clear because of the line of boarders across the trail after the first one. ive only done it once and thats because the place was deserted so there was no trail block.

^u gotta know when to go. sunday nights there is nobody there. i mean nobody at all. school programs are ending soon too, so it should get better.
