The album is all over internet, what do you think about it?

Personnaly, I think the production SUCKS except for a few tracks, the lyrics are fine on some tracks, and dope on some others, I was expect much more coming from Nas.

Best Tracks:

Hero (kinda commercial but won't play in clubs nor radios)

Fried Chicken

Sly Fox

a bunch tracks seem to belong on a Game or TI album (with cheezy hooks and shit),

PS: This is coming from an huge Nas fan - and to Jay-Z fans, yeah American Gangster was better

PPS: WTF Chris Brown on the album??? you kidding me?

 
Nas was amazing in Illmatic and Stillmatic but everything else was pretty shitty except for a few songs. Doesn't surprise me after the pile of shit that was Hip Hop is Dead.
 
Your right about Illmatic and Stillmatic

It Was Written was good, I Am had some good shit on it, God's Son too, Nastradamus was shit, I agree, HHID too, but less than Nastradamus.

^only Nas that really matters to me aside from a few songs. his flow died with his age. he also has an incredible ability to find the WORST production for his new albums
 
i heard hero on the radio and didnt really like it. nas needs to sit down. hes a god among men, but slowly becoming mortal with this new bullshit. imma stick to illmatic and it was written.
 
Nas...Nas is like Michael Jordan, back in the day he fuckin killed everybody, on like a non-funny level. but now....ehhh not so much, michael knew what was up and retired, nas, im not saying he should retire, but stop skipping practice.

i agree, but to a point...i think stillmatic is pretty dope as well, most of the rest is still more listenable than most shit being put out today. but i'm still not sure about this Untitled bussiness, that Hero song is wack, reminds me of some kanye bullshit.

and anyone who hates on nas, listen to illmatic, all the way through, at least 10 times. and then try to talk some shit after...
 
you got it all wrong Nas is one of the best YO. Illmatic, it was written (the message) I am (which was way better that Nastradamus) stillmatic, Gods Son, Streets Deciple? all real quality.

I saw Nas at Harry O's last year, he killed it when One mic came on it was soo dope. he is def one of the all time greatest and anyone who doesn't think so should re-listen to his early work. espec it was written and I am.

sure hip hop is dead was not a classic but he'll be back on top soon yo.

have you seen the video for Hero? it's straight up some Kanye shit, sunglasses and some light effects like in iPod ads, WTF... I miss the clips a la It Ain't Hard to Tell

Dr Phill I think your right, i am finding this album really hard to get into. that Hero's track sounds good but nothing is jumping out at me. I fear another Hip Hop is Dead. Damit Nas just get it back, cmon. Is it his own production again on this record?

but damn...i will never forget being like 9 maybe and watchin mtv in my gmas living room and seeing one mic debut....shit ran through me...i dug it for sure

nas will always be one of the greatest he's just in a small slump
 
NAS fell of a long time ago.

I dont know who he works with for production, but they really miss the mark.

I wouldnt say the guy is over rated or anything, he can end a career like snap, (fif should watch out) but personally I am just over him.
 
I have to agree, for the most part he kinda fell off with age. He still had moments of glory though, the actual song HHID is outstanding.

Also, Nigger Too is a amazing track. This album is all about the lyrics kids... and mostly lyrics none of you can relate to. It's about racism... something im sure most of you have never dealt with.
