Anyone heard any leak on this album or anything yet? I've been super stoked to hear SOMETHING but it's as if it's somehow completely stayed under wraps. With only 4 days left to release, I haven't seen a damn thing on it... anyone heard an ything or seen anything? How's it sound.. gimme the review!

the radio verision of the title song is gayer than aids. changed so many lyrics like murder the dj to wreck the dj

ive heard a majority of the songs on the album, some are fire, some are only ok, but it should be good.

wow, the most hardcore song my local "rap station" played was probably milkshake by kelis...i cant stand vt. i go to cali and they got live mixes and shit on the radio with a dj scratchin right there.

i was really impressed when i heard it, i like the song blunt ashes you can listen to the whole thing on mtv.com

if hip hop is dead, and nas knows it... Why is he trying to sell a new hip hop album?

think about that one for a second.

I got nothing but respect and love for nas, but the old 'hip hop is dead' adage only demeans all the other cats out there still on the grind and bringing fresh hip hop to the scene.. and it really bugs the hell out of me. Sure, mainstream hip hop and what hip hop once was in the public eye has come and passed long ago. But that's life and the way shit goes. Get over it.

TV, magazines, games, and comptuers aren't like the way it was when most of us were kids./ But most of us have come to accept things as they are and/or work towards change if we feel compelled.. instead of just bitch about it.

I'm sorry if you think hip hop is dead, but

TRUE HIP HOP is alive and well.. and bigger then it ever has been in the past. Sure you might have trouble finding hip hop on the radio or with all the 13 year old prosti-tots flooding our malls.. but check the streets.. There's plenty of people out there of all ages who appreciate good solid hip hop. There's plenty of artists who are in hip hop soley for the love of it.. who write from the heart. and could give a damn less about the money/cars/and hoes. There are plenty of artists today coming out with amazingly brand new albums.. Do they not constitute hip hop?

Although I agree with you, compared to rap, crunk, hyphy, dirty south, all that urban shit, hip hop is dead next to those.

Yes, it's alive and kicking still, but ya gotta dig for it now.

I haven't heard anything other than the title track, which I thought was a solid sound. I liked.

good to see your back GhostDragon.

i completely agree that hip hop is not dead, and the reason might be that i just started getting into real hip-hop about four years ago, but to me i think if you know what you're looking for, it's still alive and kicking.

hip-hop isn't dead, it's just changing.

exactly man. you hit the nail right on the head.

thanks btw and good to see ya too bro. I know I've been out on hiatus for a while..

And skierX I totally agree with what you're trying to say.

My whole thing is just that hip hop was founded on the love of music.. Where a bunch of guys/gals of all ethnicities/colors/creeds came together in the streets to express themselves. They didn't feel politicians on tv spoke the voice of the people so they all gathered and let it be known how they felt about society/life/love/ and everything else.

It was fun, it was positive, and it was beautiful. Sure there later came a point where GOOD music like this was on the radio and some of the best artist/emcees/d-boys were not only recognized but paid. But that was never what the true essence of hip hop was all about in the first place.. Where people would all group around a boombox and spit over soul/R&b music on repeat.

and there are still just as many cats today doing the exact same thing. People of all ages and races gathering around for the love of hip hop and nothing else. and that is beautiful and it's the very thing that will keep hip hop alive no matter what bling and chain rapper comes and goes.

that's all I'm saying :P

And also it may look like crunk/snap yo fingaz/dirty south/laffy taffy music is alive and strong.. But I actually recently heard that there was only ONE urban cd that hit platinum this last year. and that's from T.I.

and that's really hard to swallow knowing how many good mainstream artists dropped some of the best cds this last year... You could argue it's all thanks to internet downloads. But I think it's saying alot more than just that

i agree that hip-hop in general is not dead, but reffereing to the hip-hop on tv (crunk dirty south, g-unit type stuff) it is dead for sure. i honestly beleive that 3/4 of the population can write better rhymes than young joc or any of those other retards "ene mene miny mo"? are you fucking serious i wanted to kill myself after hearing that

heeey

psst!

the last track on the album is called hope (and it's acapella)

"hip hop will never die"

"live hop hop live...save hip hop save hip hop"

nas pretty much says hip hop is alive and kicking, you just have to know where to look.

while we're on the topic of Nas, i saw him at penn station when i rode the train in to see the radio city christmas spectacular. he was just with like 4 other guysfreestyling or something so i was afraid to go up to him (me being a cracker) and be like "yo nas what's up." it was pretty awesome though cause i never see famous people

find out what? i knew it was Nas cause i saw and heard him, but i didn't know what to say cause i was with my family and stuff.

I pre ordered it and picked it up yesterday, and its probly my favriot album out for a few years now. What he means by hiphop is dead(i think) is that all MOST of the rappers talk just about being rich and getting fucked up with the ocasional song about being a thug. Its nothing like when Nas first started rapping and it was all telling storys though song with really good lyrics. I could be completely off on this though.

SUPPORT YOUR FUCKIN ARTISTS. god damn. this is why hip hop is dead. downloading a song here and there is fine, but come on, if you truly like someones music support them. especially someone like nas. i hate when people do this, even when it is big name artists like nas, hes still not gonna go double platinum likes shitty rappers like jeezy or that homo lil wayne will. pisses me off to no end.

u know why hip hop is dead, because fags like u think it is, do us all a favor and suck a big hairy nut

BITCH!!!

thug life

im good thanks.. nice lil rant you got there. personally i dont think nas is worth my money.. i only buy pennywise albums, dropkicks albums, him albums. i dont need to help another black dude buy a stupid h2 and floss his teeth
