Napolean Dynamite is funny, but not THAT funny

Would anyone care to explain to my why the hell Napolean Dynamite is so funny? I really don't see how it is?

i don't think it's all that great. it has it's funny parts like all movies, but it's kinda boring. but it is really funny how completely random it is. he just says and does the most random out of place shit.

 
i was really disappointed when i saw it. i thought it was really boring as well. it could have been because i watched it sideways... i would try to think it was funny, because everyone says its sooooo funny, but i didnt see it at all..

How about Super Troopers then? That movie has been so hyped in here, that I couldn't wait to see it. It was the worst movie I have seen.

yeah but the thing is, i love stupid, unsophisticated humor. i mean there were a few parts that i laughed under my breath at, like kips rididulously slow karate low kick thing, but i didnt find the rest of it funny. even the way people acted i didnt think was too funny. oh well.

Yeah seriously, let's rag on Napoleon Dynamite all we want, but lay off Super Troopers. That is a damn fine movie.

Why? I already pointed out in one Super Troopers thread that it didn't QUITE live up to my excpectations. It was just so..damn boring and the 'jokes' were really lame. Especially that 'I'll have a liter of coke' -thing, what the hell was it all about?

plot: average guy can do anything. ex. pedro for president.... case closed. napoleon dynamite has a plot

Alot of people in my school super hyoed it up but when I saw it I thought it was pretty boring punctuated by certain funny parts. Though I admit I did laugh my head off during the dance scene

many hilarious little things. for some reason when hes at the chicken place and he goes, 'Do they have razor-sharp talons'? i laughed my ass off. also 'Pegassus Xing'... haha

the movie as a whole doesnt have very good flow and I found was not to funny although it had a few noments. I didnt find it that funny until talking about it with some friends afterwards. thats why so many people quote it individually the scenes are gold all together they dont flow well.

 
i think the whole concept is really really good... but i dunno if i would truly consider it an amazing comedy movie i mean yea there are some pretty funny parts but when u have kids who are laughing their ass off through the whole thing they obviously dont really understand it and are just laughing because they think they are supposed to..

super troopers is probaly one of the funniest movies ive seen in a while. when im 18 im getting the johnny chimpo tatto because of that movie.

I don't really think that the mormon couple in idaho cared whether it had a plot or not... case and point, they made a low budget film that scored them a lot of money. Personally if you're in the mood to be stupid and want to goof off during the movie its funny. If you aren't in a retarded mood, it blows

yeah, get this: my school is having a Napolean Dynamite dance, and theres posters up all over the school the say 'Vote for Pedro'. how fucking lame is that?
