My winter break is done (please help)

So this winter break i was planning on skiing everyday and not doing anything else, but my mom bought us tickets to Costa Rica for 10 days. I would be excited about this if it was during a time when i couldn't be skiing, but it's not and I need to think of a way to get out of it. Any ideas?
 
Get out of it...are you crazy? I love skiing too but you can ski on weekends and how often do you get to go to costa rica. Quit your bitchen, suck it up and go lay on a beach with topless girls.
 
i wouldn't be trying to get out of it but i have to go back to a spanish speaking country like that again this summer to be a foreign exchange student.
 
dunno, but if it makes you feel any better i went to costa rica two years ago and it was an amazing trip. not as good as skiing, but still pretty awesome, youll hav a good time
 
i went to costa rica and i was liek fucking make the best of this trip got drunk every night and brought back several girl to my room every night
 
Have to go back to a country like this... this shit sounds awsome. If you take this trip you will one learn what the place is like so its not that big of a shocker when you go and you will pick up some of the slag in spanish. the best way to learn is to live it. I learned more in 10 days in spain then i did in three years in high school
 
i know i'll have a good time i'm just kinda pissed that my mom just sprung it on me and i don't see why i can't just go in the summer.
 
I got slammed with the same thing, but Hawaii instead. I was planning on skiing, but I guess I am going surfing. Time to skip school as much as possible and ski my ass off!

i'll try and do that, cuz the other option was to go on a trip to whistler with my friends.

Does anyone want to buy tickets with hotel and other travel arrangements to Costa Rica
 
dude, skiings great, but theres more out there than twin tips and rails. quit your bitching, seriously, Id love to go to costa rica, I dont know where youre from but in ontario the snow usually starts getting shitty in march anyways.
 
I was going to make a thread but this is similar enough(not trying the thread jack here) but...

I'm stuck going to Florida for my spring break when I was planning to ski. I tried get out if it but it's a big family reunion thing. Any possible ways to get out of this? And yea it's not like a one time chance, my family has been going to Florida every second summer.

regardless, I hope you noticed the sarcasm in the comment a few posts up from me, thatll probably still be a wicked trip.

and James, I hope youre not serious when you say theres no more out there than twin tips and rails... thatll only encourage non-skiiers to hate on us becasue were narrow minded.
 
i don't really care what non-skiers think of me, to me there is nothing more than twin tips out there
 
This happened to me last year, I think I was pissed at my rents for about 2 weeks and then I was like "oh wait I'm going to Mexico, whatever". Just enjoy it, the snow will be waiting for you when you get back. I went for a week to Mexico and spent the rest of spring break skiing. All good.
 
man, I'm about as hardcore skier as you can get, and I would fucking love to go to Costa Rica. I don't know if you're young, or just haven't thought this out fully, but don't fuck this up for your self. I'm sure you have many more opportunities to ski, but probably not many to go to Costa Rica. Go for it, and ski when you get home. Besides, December is just the beginning of the season, it's not even prime yet.
 
duuude, be grateful while your parents are bringing you on such a dope vacation, you are going to miss a week of skiing, but costa rica?! thats going to be amazing. go down there and learn how to surf, the surf is awesome downn there
 
Damn, I checked back hoping that you would have told us it was a joke by now.

Anyways, to point out the obvious, do you realize you're going to Costa Rica? Costa Rica! That'll be a sweet trip that I would LOVE to go on any time of the year just for the experience. You have all winter to ski, but most of us don't get to go to central america all the time. Appreciate what is being given to you, it sounds like a great opportunity to go visit somewhere really cool.
 
get into surfing, if your not already. Some of the breaks in Costa Rica are world class.

You would be fucking stupid to try to get out of it, your parents lay on a holiday for you and to try to get out of it just shows them disrespect, plenty of time to ski, your only going for 10 days. get real mate
 
for my week off in Febuary my parents are taking me to north captiva island in florida. I couldnt be happier. I'm going to get a bunch of days in this year and go to sub tropic area. Again, Go you will have fun.
 
same, unless I end up going somewhere else. it would be sort of nice to stay at home for it and just relax, but then again it's months away so I can't really say now.
