ok right there is my 2 new boxes for this winter. 1 foot by 1 foot and they are each 8 feet long. cover in 1/4 HDPE on the pink and black one has glow in the dark paint around the edges

the material on top is HDPE (high density polyethylene). the HDPE costed me 52 dollars and the wood like 25 bucks.

i used a caulking glue and countersunk screws to hold it on.

How did you cut the hdpe inhalf? special saw blade?

i just used my circular saw with a fine tooth blade. i dont think it would of mattered what blade i used.

yeah u just need one of them. then cut it in half. thats if you want you box eight feet long

thats sick, so you just drill in the hdpe from the top?

yes but u need to countersink the screws so they dont stick out up top.

whats countersinking? how do you do it

countersinking is making a shallow divit for the head of the screw to sit below the surface of the box. you can buy countersinking bits. or drill your on holes with a drill bit the same size of the head of the screw

yeah most likly it would crack or they wouldnt go down far enough and they would stick out.

how much use has the box had so far, has it held out? are you still able to use it? anyways that is a pretty sick box

we had two like 4 or 5 hour sessions on it it and it worked great. the only problem is if you come off the side the edge scrapes alittle but i knew that would happen and it doesnt happen to often.
