of what you posted, i like wintersleep, dylan and credence.

you like shitty jams, and probably like phish.

upon closer inspection, the tallest man on earth is quite good and not very similar at all or trying to be dylan.
 
1. Im probably older than you. 2. you have very poor taste in metal if you dont like devildriver. 3. I bet you like to diss these bands but cant play an instrument to save your life. just my theory. prove me wrong.
 
I love metal and dont really like devil driver, they arent BAD, but I dont find anything special about them.

Most talented metal band these days IMO is between the buried and me
 
1- i dont know if you're older than me or not, i'm 17. if you are older than me, congrats, if not, who cares?

2- devildriver straight up isnt very good imo, i like older metal and sludge alot more than them. y'know, weedeater, sleep, sir lord baltimore, lucifer's friend... oh, wait, you've probably never even heard of those bands right?

3- i play guitar, i'm not the best ever, but i'm sort of ok.

 
1. Age has no bearing on musical taste. My parents are older than me and they like the Counting Crows and Enya.
2. Metal is shit music.
3. Being able to play an instrument has no bearing on musical taste. Maybe you think being able to sweep pick gives you an appreciation of metal. Satriani is a great guitarist, but he's unlistenable, and metal is STILL SHIT MUSIC.
4. METAL IS SHIT MUSIC.
P.s. guitar major over here - metal is terrible, derivative, and hasn't changed since the early 80's apart from distortion values and content.
 
I look at metal the same way I look at jazz. Both require great skill, and had their heyday, but now everybody plays the same shit and does it only to show how well they can play an instrument, not how well they can compose or make music. Jazz and Metal are both forms of artistic masturbation where they try to be a bigger tool than the guy before him.
