Used the searchbar but didn't really find any answers.

OK so my 2nd gen line chronics are loosing camber and I just want to know if these suckers are still going to ski good outside the park. My season is over but Im talking a ski trip next weekend and I dont want any surprises if I decide to take them... please tell me if these are still skiable!! I'm poor and dont want to buy a new pair =(

++karma for helpful replies!!

Youll be fine. My dumonts are flat/zero camber now, and my old ARVs went flat then actually rockered themselves in the tips! They were even more fun then!

^ really?? they will actually ski fine all around? still hold an edge?

snow in CO is ice and slush by now so I reaaally hope they ski OK...

Yep, esp if youre a good skier youll be fine. I skied all of these on Midwest ice, which usually calls for ice skates.

All skis will lose camber over time, my old ar6's went totally flat and rockered in the tip and tail, but they were fine. Even more fun if anything. No they didnt have the pop or hold an edge as well as a new ski, but they were really playfull and fun.

same happened to my liberty laroses and by doing so many butters in the tips and tails the rocker is so fun, and then the broken in flex.......stright bomb runs at keystone just buttering. love it

thanks for the post guys! edge hold, punching through crud and being able to charge are my main concern... don't ski park that often anymore.

A ski getting worn in like that will in most cases ski better in conditions you described. Shane McConkey realized that his worn out Volants actually skied better in pow and crud becuase they lost their camber. The idea was born in his head and look where we are today with ski design.

My liberty's have about 2-3cm rocker in the tips and tails as well.

The rocker is barely noticeable, fun if anything. What's more noticeable is how the core breaks in, slowly loses pop and loses its energy over time

This can happen with these full woodcore ski. Just look at very old wood skis, you would have to keep a tennis ball in between the two skis to keep them from losing their camber.

bumpin my old thread cus i'm heading out to CO again and i'm planning on taking my no-camber og chrons with me... only this time it seems to be conditions are gonna be nice.

been skiing them in meh conditions previous years and have held up fine, just curious to know if you guys think they'll fair me well in the nicer, softer snow (not skiing any park)... might even see some new inches in my stay ++karma for helpful input, please read the rest of the thread for context, thanks!

They'll be fine as long as you don't plan on skiing 100kmph down an icy race course. They should even be better in soft snow/light powder as the tips probably would have developed rocker by now which is better for new snow.

Skis don't really gain camber back. Say you bend out a pair of a-bangs so they are soft. They won't ever be the same. But, just ski the ski for what it is, adapt to what it will let you do, and when on a different ski it may affect how you ski on a camber ski, relying less on it. Hoped it helped.

i had the exact same tip rocker on 3 different pairs of the old K2 fujatives and they were one of my favourite slushy park/jib skis.

Has anyone noticed their rockered skis flattening out? I haven't noticed it on any of my skis but i'd think with a bit of abuse it would happen.

not planning on skiing any ice, hopefully CO conditions will last a few weeks... heading out there 1st week of march.

i do like to charge though so as long as these planks let me carve into my turns i guess i'll be fine... just worried they won't hold up while charging down or in tight turns in the trees
