i jsut got volkl walls 177 with the jesters think i shold go center, foward or backward and how much o im 5'8 "and 140ish lbs
 
thats sweet man. center mount them if you are gonna ski mostly park.but it will definitly affect performance on the rest of the mountain.
 
ya ill be in the park like 30% of the time and al mtn like 70%but my last twins i had center and i just got used to them b adjusting my center of gravity
 
depends what "70% all mtn" means to him.

walls carve quite well on groomed so it could work, just not if all mtn include big mtn y'dig?
 
it refers to the sidecut being exactly the same in front and back, so you can mount one ski normal and the other ski backwards and they would ride exactly the same
 
I'm still unsure that symmetrical skis ride better switch, just due to the fact that you hold your weight differently and all... but go for center, why not?
 
True twin does not mean it is symmetrical, true twin means the tail height is the same as the tip height. Most symetrical skis are also true twins however. so nomensteven was correct.....like he usually is.

A symmetrical ski is....well, symmetrical, could be mounted forwards or backwards technically.

If you buy a symmetrical ski there is absolutely no reason to mount it non center, if you don't want a ski mounted center get a different ski, with all the choices today there is a ski for everything.

Conclusion: MOUNT THEM CENTER.

 
maybe as a second/third/fourth/... ski? I'm also looking into the symetrical skis (anyone got a list btw?) to be used solely for park, which is only a small amount of my skiing but hey

at ^^^^^about the performance, as Völkl recommends a center mount I would think that's actually the best spot for mounting them, might be wrong but that the impression they gave me, although it does sound logical that center mount affects performance since it does so on any other ski
