My season video.. feedback!

Hey guys I did this last year and a lot of you gave me some great advice.

Basically I'm gonna leave the link to my 2002 ski season compilation video here and I want you guys to tell me what you think. If you feel the need to flame, well that's a risk I'm willing to take! Haha enjoy, and tell me what you think of my low-quality skills.

hey, this looks kinda like our movie for this year, so I can't give you any crap. Good job! Maybe try to get a little closer/cooler angles and stuff. If you don't have a wide angle or fish eye lens, get one! and next year you'll get bigger tricks, and more tricks. keep working at it!

I like the videoing jump and how u put it together... haha steel the guyz wallet... ya just i saw alout of 360s and swich 180... 1ce u get a bit more tricks in your book of tricks it will be a sick movie

Did you want feedback on you editing or skiing skills? I don't know much about video editing, but I do know you're a better skier than I am.

wicked dude! you're actually right where i am, except i TRY and throw sicker tricks but i hardly ever make them....but i can do them 1/15 times. no thats a wicked video, just try and avoid the whole blair witch project deal. whats the soundtrack?

 
Zebrahead - Someday I shamefully stole it right out of Mike D's segment in The Game... but hey I love the song.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I do want to look into better angles/editing but the problem is that I can't record myself, so I have to explain to brain-dead snowboard friends how to use my cam, haha.

Very nice man, you are the same level im at. Very good if thats your first video. Some editing tips:

-First when you have the camera in one place use a tripod. You can concentrate more on focusing and zoom instead of balancing the camera. This will make it a lot more professional.

-As for the follow shots, Just practice steady camera.

-You can use some fading between tricks

-Try to use the music more fore editing. Like line up new beats and stuff with new shots and such. Hard but makes the movie awesome

One skiing tip too, if you don't mind me saying (I really don't want to sound like an asshole here)

-Point your skis more downhill in your turns. Espcially in the moguls, you back of your skis slide back and forth too much, they should be carving (sorry, i dont want to be a asswipe, just wanted to help improving ur skiing)

how did u get it on a website like that? cause i did a video like that, mine was 10 minutes with like d-spin 7's, a couple double backs, and a fakie back (none of those me of course) so if u could just tell me how to do that i would appreciate it... thanks

1.) I have webspace that my bro hooked up when he worked at an internet company... it's unlimited so email me if you ever want something hosted. skifakie@netreach.net

2.) The hills in PA were mostly Blue Mountain, and one shot at Spring Mtn (really small place).

3.) The skis are '00-'01 White K2 Enemies (Euro versions or something) I got them over the phone from a guy in canada dirt cheap.

haha cool. seriously the best way to get better is to do exactly what you are doing. try to video as much as you can and then watch it repeatedly. it totally helps you improve your technique, style, skill and bag of tricks.

looks exactly like me, 3s and crappy switch tricks, all i can do. I didn't see many grabs though, you kinda even look like me, creepy. what mountain is that anyway?

-How many snowboarders does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

not a bad movie brotha...work on some stuff...funniest part was def the wallet thing...reminds me of my clips i wanna put on a movie...i got poles skid right behing this snowboarder...hit with my poles in the back of the legs and he fell...then we ran....great movie

Great video, but you need more variety of tricks. If you are going to do more than a few 360s' at leas ttry to do a diferent grab with each one. I realize maybe its hard, but it will help you so much!
