My season is over

That's a bummer man, but don't fret... you've got NS to see you through. How many months are you out? Remember, don't be lazy, do your therapy like a champ and you'll be back in no time.

I can sympathize: I just reinjured my Achille's tendon on my first pow run of the year, and might not be able to ski for months on it...

ah man, sorry to hear about that. Stuff like that sucks at the very beginning of the year. Hope you heal fast.

that really sucks man, good luck getting through and recovering, better to recover slow and well and get to ski again next year than to rush it and permenantly fuck urself up. also props on not suing your mtn like that 1 douchebag.

idk y any one would sue

the mountian didnt make me hit the jump

but any way i shoukd be able to ski in feb i think

good luck man oh and listen to your therapist. they know what theyre talking about. obey them and youll be back in the saddle in no time.

what did breaking your back feel like i have always wondered this, and i hope you gett better soon and have a speedy recovery

This wouldn't have happened if the jump was well made, you really should sue the mountain for not only your sake, but the safety of us skiers.

(just kidding)

Good luck on recovery, focus on the long term and make sure you are healed well before you risk it. I hope you get better soon.

were you riding at blue? if so im sorry man, thats like a 2 day season. get better soon bro, if you can do some easy cruisin by the end of the season its still better than nothing.

Thats sucks big time, You might be able to catch spring skiing if your lucky. At least you went out with a bang thats forsure. I bet it was a spectacluar blowout.

that sucks man.

this weekend i saw this kid overshoot the shit out of this jump at whiteface, and sorta landed on his back and looked like he was hurt

it was mad scary i couldnt even laugh at the fall, but the ski patrol said he was gonna be ok

yeah man that really sucks, but shit happens...think about this i have a friend that overshot a landing too and he was out also for a season cause he had major injuries and he didn't took care of him self that good didn't do therapy as he needed and came back to skiing a year later and i was just skking with him normally and sudenly he fucks up his hip again...so take your time do whatever you need to do to get really really well and then go back and ENJOY SKIING AGAIN it will give you another perspective thats my advice

that is really wierd. My room mate just fractured a few vertabrea in her back. she is only out for 4-6 weeks so it isn't as bad. Good luck. Dont just sit on the couch. one of the best things for you to do is walk in a pool. your body weight is boiant and it takes the pressure off your spine, yet you are still getting exercise.

hey, same thing happened to me this weekend at mount snow, cept i didnt break anything. the last jump (i think about 50 feet?) i overshot it, 540 safty'd it, landed flat, and tweaked my knee. still hurts right now..

How did you break your back? and definitely listen to the doctors on that one, i fractured a vertebra last season but then went back out before the doctors said i could, and now its in real bad shape. don't get anxious and jump the gun.

i really feel for you man. try to heal fast and get ur strength back. but look on the bright side, you didnt become a paraplegic or a quad or nothin, so you have something to be grateful for...

that was lame. i acctually really feel for you man. i would be absolutly devistated. i cant imagine. i came close. but yeah, shit. i hope it gets better quick.

I broke my back 2 seasons ago, only takes about 2 months to heal but because all the muscles weaken you gotta make sure you train before going back to the park or do stuff like that. I didn't and broke my neck the first day back in the park, less then 2 months after my first crash. You really don't wanna do that!

Dang that sucks. That is a fear of mine of getting hurt early in the season, but I guess we all have that chance. Get well quick and don't forget everything happens for a reason which allows good things to derive from bad.

I don't agree with suing mountain unless there is a good reason. Just b/c you chose the jump doesn't matter. You just haven't said what mountain it is, so you can't count out the chance that they made the jump without taking into consideration physics. I'm not a fan of stupid people suing, but stupid mountains need to change there ways. I don't intend this to continue this thread off topic, but someone is welcome to start a new thread for futher discussion. Stupid designers and employers deserve legal ramifications when they build idiotically and make us assume the risk (i.e., Ford Pinto).

Damn, dude.

I did the same thing last year (breaking back) man, except it was at the very end of my season. But it just made me more stoked to ski.

Just work on the therapy, and you'll get better in no time at all.
