My school on complete lockdown today, cops swarm the building

basically, some kid called in a gun warning from the pay phone in the main foyer of our school, and a code 3 lockdown was initiated. i sat in my classroom for 4 hours while 50 cop cars surrounded the school, doing class-by-class searches. by the time they got to my class, it was 5:30 PM, school was supposed to end at 2:45. they ordered us to put our hands up; we were then brought into the hall to be body-searched. we werent allowed to take any of our belongings with us, so now i have to go in at 8:00 tomorrow to get my stuff, even though we dont have school tomorrow. there goes my friday at whistler.

the disgusting thing about this incident is that

although no one was arrested for having a gun or making the call,

several students were arrested for possession of marijuana, which was

found during the body searches. i no longer have faith in our justice

system.
 
i actually thought about that, but there was nothing to pull inside the class, and we couldnt get into the hallways.
 
damn before i got to the end of that i was just thinkin shit i bet a bunch of kids got busted with chron

moral of the story: dont possess illegal items or substances and you wont run into this problem.

i dont break the law and i have complete faith in the justice system. funny how the only people who dont are the people that condone illegal activity
 
why wouldnt they be smart enough to put the weed under a desk in the class or something. like tape it to the bottom of a desk or just fuckin stash it somewhere in the classroom before they get searched. they might not of known they were gonna get searched though... but still.
 
last major lock down my school had was awesome! it was for tornados in colorado in the foothills of all places for there to be a tornado... anyways me and my friends were longboard thru the halls while everyone was in there classes cause we didnt think there was actually a tornado and then we got pulled into the gym and we just longboarded around the gym for like 2 hours. it was awesome.

then we found out that there really were tornados that missed our school and just destroyed windsor, then we kinda felt bad
 
i heard about this on the radio, the way they presented it made it sound like they didnt respond very well. like, they had a lot of cops and shit show up, but wouldnt it have been safer if they just evacuated the building ,rather than frustrating the hundreds of kids with guns in a confined space? if even a kid punched another kid it would have made the authorities look like idiots for keeping everyone together
 
haha there were like 5 or 6 within a 2 week period last year and theres been 3 or 4 this year. they were awsome at first cause we got to go outside and fuck around and leave early and shit but then they got old. the person still hasnt been caught but they've stopped making them because everyone talks about how they are so gay.
 
Yeah dude our school is gay a few times a year they do a lockdown and search all of the cars with drug dogs, then they move us out to where they keep the buses and they search the whole school for drugs.

also, im pretty sure the cops dont have a right to charge you if they search you for another reason. Sounds like a faiiirrlllyyy easy thing to get out of.

hey vagina with legs, this has nothing to fucking do with the kids that had weed and were searched. they shouldnt have been charged (at least in the US, i dunno abut Canada) for possession if they were searched for another reason without probable cause. a fine for it is the worst that can happen. this shit got started because someone thought, hey, im gonna be a fuckhead and call a gun threat! then kids who were going to burn after school and do NOTHING to harm ANYONE got fucked over because some fuckhead did something to fuck EVERYONE over.

good on you for not breaking the law, but dont be a douchebag about it. i agree, not the smartest thing to carry your bud on school grounds, but getting indirectly fucked over by someone that should be put in jail for making threats against life when you havent done anything but carry marijuana, which has some of the most retarded laws against it that have ever been created, is fucking ridiculous.
 
yup, pretty much. we were detained there even hours after no threat had been found, and the special needs kids got to leave as soon as all the hallways were clear. so basically thats saying that if you're retarded, the grounds must be safe, but if you are a normal person, its still too dangerous to leave?

and about the weed, i had some stuff myself, including my bubbler and pipe which i coincidentally brought today (planned a sesh after school). i saw the searches coming, so i stashed everything in the classroom. all i can say is i hope its still there tomorrow when i pick up my stuff, because if its not, i would have lost $100 of glass which i have grown to love, and some bud, all because of some fucking douchebag who thought it would be funny to call in a gun threat.
 
not sure if anyones said it bro, but on school grounds they are allowed to search you whenever they want without reason...keep that in mind. Sorry bout the bs dude

the kids who got caught with bud are retards...there are many places in a classroom to inconspicuously put a satchel without being seen, if they new they were gonna get searched, and had 3 hours to brainstorm about this dilema, why did they not forsee their arrest and hide the marijuana bags?
 
if they have reason to believe anyone might possess a firearm or anything on their school property, then can lock it down. And that means nothing leaves. It's stupid, but you probably would face a lot more trouble than a suspension for trying to get out of a locked down building. But yea, i would be pretty pissed to be stuck there for so long too.
 
dude, shut the hell up. his point isn't terrible. marijuana is illegal, and getting caught (as its against the law), is punishable. i mean, i don't agree with it, but why in the fuck would you have pot at school? if you really need to smoke that much, at least leave it in your car. you don't need to carry it through the halls.

but i do agree with you, if they had 3 hours, they could easily hide it.
 
same shit happened at my school last year because my friend was walking around with a cardboard gun he found in english. locked down for 5 hours, everyone was searched. there were helis and snipers on the roof. it was crazy. the funny part was that the school ended up having to pay him for making such a big deal out of nothing.

that is probably against their fourth amendment right though. They were searching for a gun, not weed. I bet they could take it to court and get it overturned, if its in the U.S. at least

if you hid your piece/bag well it should still be there...and in the US i dont think they could tell you to leave your shit there overnight for searches, thats fucked up

Actually New Jersey vs T.L.O. went to the supreme court in 1985 and established that YOU CAN BE SEARCHED FOR NO REASON AT ALL WHILE IN SCHOOL. you are not protected by the 4th amendment in school

btw Bishop Carroll here in Calgary got locked down for 5 hours or so just a few months ago (having been expelled, i missed it), but i don't think the cops searched everyone seeing as how they were only looking for one guy, and i didn't hear about anybody getting busted, which somebody would have at carroll, seeing as how half that school has pot in their pockets at all times.
 
Haha mang I'm gonna be at this school next year. Thats gay as shit though. I know one chick who had a half ounce in her bag so I really hope she got that out. And to everyone saying why take bud to school? We live in BC, everyone blazes all the time here, bud at school really isn't anything special.

while i was in highschool there were 3 bomb threats. I know how it feels man. Third time there actually was a homemade bomb too. It was in the bathroom.

but the cops never arrested kids for marijuana. Where in Canada is weed legal anyway?
