My school is closing.

The whole situation sounds a little fishy. Closing a school that has over $1 million per student, the trustees are the owners of the steep company, and 59% of the endowment is in one stock?
Good luck and I hope you guys win the lawsuit.
 
sorry to hear that. that school looked sick, too. at least your a senior, though. where are you going to college?

That "lounge" is actually an entire building.. I'm not sure why they called it a lounge but it's just a little smaller than a football field, so it's a giant lounge. That pond is actually a waterfall, but they don't turn it on since it splashes people :D

There was a trial yesterday for a temporary injunction. The parents involved in the lawsuit requested two trials. The first was the temporary, they wanted the judge to require the school to stay the same for one year. That was yesterday and they lost..

The next trial is for the permanent injunction (has to stay a 4 year school for forever.) It's on Earth Day, strange coincidence since we are an environmental school. They have a better chance of winning this one..

The thing is that even if the parents win and the school has to go back, most of our staff is already fired and not coming back. Most underclassmen have already found new schools to go to and filled out dozens of applications. It's basically a huge mess.

At least they take us skiing :)
 
i am sorry that your school is closing but i laughed when i read the caption under the picture of the girl looking at a leaf.

"In a biology class, a student analyzed a leaf." O RLY?
 
I feel ya on that one. My mom is a family and consumer sciences teacher at a school in the next town over from me, and they just cut the program. No more job for her. To make it worse shes divorced, was engaged, but her fiance just passed away. Shits going downhill for her.

Yeah I laughed at the leaf thing too.. We don't really do that.. That girl doesn't even go here anymore but she used to live with me.

sorry, that was confusing. The northern border of our school property is with the UP of Michigan. Very northern Wisconsin. Look up the town Land O Lakes on Google, not the butter..
