im so excited but i figured out a few days ago that i cant parallel park(i hit the car behind me twice).

anyone got any failsafe tips on parallel parking?

pull up so your mirror is right next to the door handle then turn the wheel one turn and back up till ur at 45 degrees then straighten the wheel out and back up again then once you clear the bumper turn the opposite direction and doit all slowly... good luck man

youre going places

(haha, get it)

pretty good, but i think my situation is a little better than yours. maybe not though- u might be a successful skibum while i might get injured in car accidents. im a poretty good driver overall though

bingo bango, remember that if you need to adjust or cancel your paralell park because of safety reasons you will not get docked any points for it. If your about to screw up pull back out and try it again. Just go into the test with confidence and don't rush anything.

back in the day when i took my driving test i sat on a phone book....yes i'm THAT short.

....k no i didn't actually sit on a phone book....

....I sat on a booster seat.

.....ok that's a lie too. I can see over the steering wheel.

haha funny one^

but my drivers ed teacher suggested to me sitting on a pillow because im only 5'3", but shes 4'11" and doesnt sit on the pillow..

wtf?

i can see over the damn dash and can reach the pedals!

where do you live...? I just took mine like a month ago and got something ridiculus like 97%. If you have a chance before it then take a lesson.. they help!

First time I went to take my test I failed the parallel parking. 2nd time I got it. And I did it in a Blazer jea jea

oh cool, i got my license.. like in the beginning of december, i can't even remember the date, but first time baby! WHOOP haha. Just don't get nervous, when you get nervous you forget things..

The testers in my town don't really care as long as you don't pull up onto the curb or hit the other cars...because I mean, who dies in a parellel park?

You won't fail if you hit the curb doing your parallel park. I hit it and still passed. I had two almost automatic fails though, but somehow just saved myself each time. I failed my first test though but the girl was bitchy and I am a horrible driver. The guy was easygoing for my second test.

on my test my park was like 3 feet from the curb they really dont care if you're perfect. More the fact that you're a cautious, aware and familiar with all the road rules.

Just remember Right Straight Left. Turn the wheel all the way to the right then back up a little straighten it out. Back up a little. All the way to the left. Back up a little. I was always told NOT to pull forward after you're in because then you can't get out. Even if you totally fail the parallel parking you should be able to pass the rest of the test unless you really suck ass at driving.

dont worry, when i was 16 i was 5' 3" and now im 18 and im 5'9". my liscence still says im 5'3" tho...

oh well dont worry about it youll grow

In my town (foco, larimer county) they dont even take you out onto the largest road in town...its pretty pathetic. The test lasts about 15 minutes and no parking.

Parallel parking is soooo easy, alright, similar to the 'strat' above just alot easier to comprehend with less degrees.

1. Pull up to the side of their car about 2 feet apart, idk really how far apart.

Signal Right

my friend like, straddled the line on her reverse-stall park and still got her license, you'll be fine. just dont do anything illegal.

Bwahahaha, that's awesome.

With my driver's test, I almost I got docked points for turning TOO slow. I was like, wtf man?! YOU try steering this '84 Chevy Silvarado and we'll see how you do. I called him El Jefe, because he was driving me, not the other way around.
