My review of Revolver

Went to the premier last night and it was a great time. Pretty sweet movie overall, I think it was not quite as exciting as EDIAS, but I said the same thing about Reasons after the EDIAS premier last year. After watching EDIAS multiple times I can safely say that is one of my favorite movies.

A few things that were only mildly disappointing. Tudor's segment wasn't quite as well rounded and mind blowing as last years. However, he did have just about the gnarliest line in the whole movie, this thing was so long that I think it had multiple songs and an intermission before he got all the way down... jokes. But seriously he had some really good footage. Also, Durtschi's segment wasn't quite up to par with last years I thought just because he was injured a lot. Again, he definitely had a lot of great footage though.

Overall though the movie was fantastic and I thought definite stand out parts for me were Ager and Julien. Ager was killing it as usual and stomping switch landings out of the sketchiest run outs you can imagine. Julien in my opinion had the best segment of the movie. The helmet cam footage of his Alaska trip was unreal. So many amazing shots and I liked the song that went along with it as well.

Super fun premier, can't wait for next year.

definitely some gnarly stuff going down on chads, can't remember exactly what was thrown down, but it was impressive for sure.

as far as spoiler alert, not sure why that is needed i just said it was good and who i liked...

why...you clearly knew he was going to talk about the movie...obviously he was going to talk about specific shots. Not to mention, the other ("Revolver was...") thread gave away SO much more than this thread.

I'm still stoked to see it, can't wait for the Blue-Ray Disc to arrive at my house!

Cant forget about Juliens segment! It was probably my favorite part of the movie. His helmet cam footage was supremely excellent and seriously got me pumped on the upcoming year. Kelly/Stack/Ager also killed it, Charlie blowing peoples minds again pulling off unthinkable landings. Agreed it wasn't quite as epic as EDIAS, but it was still very effective in getting me stoked at least.

Oh yeah, and i saw you at the bar after the show last night but i left early. Hope it was as crazy as it was last year!

This...and Sammy put out one of his best film segs, at least the best i've seen in a long timeee.

Yeah, I am in full agreement. Juliens part was easily my favorite. Just seeing all that stuff from his perspective was amazing. Yeah, I saw you roaming around a bit too, I meant to come say hi but then you disappeared. BTW I ordered a set of Caylors and am drooling over getting to shred those this season they were epic when I demoed them at the end of the season last year.

my review: the movie was sooo sick definately worth watching. i liked it better than edias, the urban segment was dope best iv seen, tudors seg was filthy it was about 10 minutes long and he had two of the craziest lines in the movie. durtschis seggy was also really good i thought. the music was alot of glitch mob but it fit. my fav shots and segments were the frontflip truckdriver in the sunset, and tudor simon and durtschis segments. i am definatey pre ordering this

I loved Sammy's segment with all the buttering around on the pow lines and the night time pilllow shots with Riley, Dane, and I think Brandon was so much cooler than I'd thought it'd be

i thought that the music deffinetly makes a difference in the movie and the music in revolver just wasnt as good as EDIAS. i think they are both really good movies though.

the caliber of skiing in Revolver > the caliber of skiing in EDIAS.

but the soundtrack was painful. All that dubstep sounded like the mens' room at Chipotle.

i agree with both of you. which is why i think it is such a bummer that companies like nimbus and mack dawg are not getting the respect they deserve. mack dawg always put together some really interesting movies since they had such diverse music and would put stuff you would never think would work in a movie and it would flow beautifully. just shows the editing prowess of those guys to make any song be perfect.
