My Rebutle to "Tanner Hall pawns a Noob"

you just go along with the rest of the fuckin crowd, grow your own balls and have an opinion for once, you are just as bad as the rest of the dudes who are heckling this dude because he was trying to be witty, dont follow the crowd dumbass

unlike you and most kids on this site, we, intelligent skiers, like to back up our statements with a good solid argument, that is what separates us from retards like Tanner Hall and...you

i feel like im the only one who realizes tanners comment really sucked ass. that was the type of comment a cocky 8th grader would come up with...

i think both of you are dumb.

couple reasons why I still find this hilarious:

- I didn't believe this when he first told me

- Me and my buddies were telling lowe*flow how bad he would be pwnd when he finally joined NS

- People get super heated on here and threaten us over it, high school kids actually

- Lowe*flow validated his Noob-ness by misspelling "Pwn"

these threads are the reasons I hate and love NS

So, Ebonics = black people = not good enough to be considered intelligent?

...but you're the smart one...not the racist asshole hating on someone you've never met on the internet.

I'm not racist, but if you are going to write something on the internet, don't write in ebonics, it makes you look stupid, and just look at Tanner, he is a burnt out kid who probably barely got through high school, there is a reason why pro skiers become pro skiers, I know plenty of kids who are really good at skiing, but they realize that they are too intelligent to give up college, and a real job

How old are you? You'd rather work in the real world

than get paid to ski and make a living off of it? You think Tanner is

unintelligent? You are fucking retarded. He's made a lot of money and

he seems to have done a good job of investing at least some of it. Beyond

property and his film company, who knows what else he's done with his

money. I doubt he's pissed it away. You're saying inaccurate shit

about someone you've never met before, but praise in your profile. Way to

be. [endif]

I still can’t believe you said you’d rather go to college

and get a real job than get paid to ski.

Obviously you aren’t a true skier.

If anyone else on this website was guaranteed at age 15 to have an amazing

career in skiing, like Tanner or many others, they’d take it. College will always be there, getting paid

to ski like & what the pros do won’t.

NONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!

being from Chicago, i'm almost offended to see MJ compared to Tanner. i love Tanner's skiing and his attitude, don't get me wrong. i'm a BIG Tanner fan. he's constant entertainment, he's a great skier, and he seems like a rad cat. that being said, the personality differences between the two of them is so drastic and dramatic that you can't POSSIBLY say that Tanner is in any way, shape, or form comparable to Michael Jordan. Jordan was all about (and still is about...) POSITIVE publicity- he realized he was a role model and embraced it. you can't say the same for Tanner at all. i have no problem with Tanner, i think he's a damn good skier and hanging out with him would be a good time, but he's no Michael Jordan.

Heard from a buddy of my dads who used to do a lot of work in the NBA that Jordan was a total douchebag. Just mean to people all the time, waiters, card dealers, bell boys, etc. Just a total prick all the time. Was actually pretty sad to hear, as he is such an amazing athlete, and while he was publicly a pretty good role model, I guess he was just an ass to a lot of people who didn't deserve it.

He said the coolest and nicest guy he ever met was Barkley.

This is his opinion of course, but he told some stories that were pretty shitty to hear.

anyways...back to the thread.

I'm 17, and I would love to ski for a living, but its just not a realistic goal for me, and probably not for most of the kids on this site. There is a reason why pro skiers are pro skiers. If you focus on your studies, you don't have time to go skiing as much as the pros did when they were our age. To become a pro, you have to ski pretty much every day, I can't do that, and I doubt that you will want to go to college after a pro ski career. I mean who would want to go from a life of a pro skier to hard classes everyday?

I agree with the creator of this thread...Come to think of it, I actually agreed months back

https://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/319582/

You know it's possible to do comps in the winter and go to college in the summer. That's what most skaters do (other way around of course). I don't know about skiers, but many pro skaters have good education and they usually get pretty good jobs after their skating carreers.

actually that would make her a dyke...but that is just being picky.

and seriously, yeah, lots of hate in this thread. God people on here really need snow.

Case in point: John Symms.

Ridiculously sick skier, but takes time off to be in school and seems to do well there (from the little I have read...but still, he has his priorities set)

Lets see....Charlotte Moats went to Dartmouth.

there are a lot of pros from CO that seem to go to CU as well.

I never knew that, but that is great, I am glad that a lot of skiers and skaters are getting a good education, because a lot of the time, their pro sports careers don't exactly give a lot to their financial futures, so I am stoked that they are getting an education, I feel that it is something that everyone should try to get. An education is never a bad thing to have.

I'm not attacking you in any way, shape, or form; in fact, I agree with many of your statements. It seems to me, though, that you are saying that pro skiers are pro because they are too dumb to get an education. Don't you think that it is because they care so much about skiing and have the talent to go pro that they don't worry about an "education?" Also, please remember that an "education" does not necessarily mean a four year degree right out of high school...that's a very close-minded way to view it. (for the record i'm in a four/five/ maybe six year program right now)

While Tanner's response certainly isn't going to raise eyebrows in the literary community, and he certainly isn't book-smart or particularly a well-spoken , he definitely deserves respect. I think most people agree he's trying to improve.

nowwwwwww lets just stop being gay. why worry so much about someone else, and what they do? we all know that t hall is slaying, and all we can do is respect that, so why hate on him? granted that there always needs to be controversy in todays world, but why amplify the amount of controversy in a sport thats based on freedom of expression?

Chill, please. We all know it was sarcasm, and Tanner was cool about it anyways. It's true though...look what you're doing and look where he is in life. He works his ass off at skiing...and well, you're writing sarcastic semi-funny comments on his myspace page.

ahahhahahah it makes me laught a lot reading this thread. TANNER IS A NORMAL PERSON like everybody and if he wanna tell u that u are a loser or whatever why he wouldnt tell you???

maybe he is the michael jordan of skiing but he has the right to be drunk, to ski, to go in cuba, what ever. so plz all u ns user stop thinking that tanner is crying at home because people on the worst talk-shitter site ever talk-shit about him. remember he has the right to live like everybody and if he doesnt want to sign autographs its your problem and not his.
