My Prom Story

So my senior prom was over the weekend, and I had a blast. Dinner was good (prime rib with mashed potatoes and green beans) and beautiful weather allowed us to hang out on the balcony over looking a golf course at sunset.

We finally got to dance at around 8 PM. They played the usual dance songs ("Say Yeah" by Wiz Khalifa, anyone?) and the Titanic song. After about an hour, the DJ announced that they were taking requests. I knew that I wanted to make my prom special, and memorable, so I went up and requested a song.

After about 15 minutes, the sweet sound of a keyboard and electronic drums came over the speakers - Rick Astley, NS icon.

I started to dance, my strength was rejuvenated. I lost myself in Rick's amazingly low voice, and before I knew it half of my class was off of the dance floor. I didn't understand it - how could you not enjoy the timeless classic that was playing?

I shrugged it off and continued to dance, while more and more people left the dance floor. I guess they just didn't appreciate the song as much as me. Thanks NS!

And the new NS trend, for you lazies: Sparknotes - I Rick Roll'd my prom, causing half of my classmates to leave the dancefloor.

sick man sounds transcendental like rockin to the beat of your own drum.My song for me is sandstorm by darude. I went nuts on that song, and after it I felt so tired, but it was so worth it.

i wish they got to play that at my prom! instead the djs lights came crashing down and sent a ton of kids to the hospital. deff wont forget that night!

I might try that at my spring fling dance this week, cept i dont think anyone's gonna get it.

i went to atlanta for this school trip, and a bunch of us went to this diner/bar with karaoke. so of course i get three other kids to sing never gonna give you up, to rick roll the entire diner. when we did it....im pretty sure nobody knew what a rick roll is, who rick astley is, or anything. i was like wtf is wrong with you people

haha i had to sing that song in front of one of my classes except i changed the lyrics to deal with politics, i came in second though to a stupid kid with a banjo who wrote his own music

my prom story:

Woke up at 11:00am (school day)

went to the bank

cashed a check or two,

went home,

went on a bike ride,

went to work,

worked on my prom

added $500 to my bank acount instead of spending a few houndred on some girl I don't give a rats ass about

made some more money.

Word. I wish I had done that. I almost did but I decided Prom would be one of those nights I'd regret not going to. Turned out to be the other way around....
