My Problems Here At JOSS

These things happen! Hope the hand gets better and you have a good time over in Sweden.

I understand you're situation, but what are you're filmer and photographer doing for the comp since you haven't been able to ski much?

that blows fat donkey dick. i've never lost luggage, but am scared every time i fly, so i bring my boots carry-on. i've tried to ski in borrowed/rentals before, and it would have been better to sit in the lodge. heal up, come back to keystone.

Sweet dude. This had nothing to do with bobby. I am friends with him and I was hoping for him to get Jossi's spot, the extra one that Jon did not end up replacing, but I never thought the clarke didn't deserve his spot in the original final eight or ten athletes.

As for clarke, thanks for clearing stuff up. I still don't really understand how there could be no salomon dealers or reps in Sweden with spk's or any other salomon freestyle boots and skis, but whatever. Sounds like the cut was pretty bad, im sorry I was so harsh. I was just feeling the pain of the kids out there who would have killed for a chance at those features, and it initially sounded like you were not really trying to make it happen. I appreciate you coming on here and telling the whole story. Good luck with your recovery.

your friend isn't that smart and as far as the rest of his season, etc

he really had nothing to lose. did your friend slice his back to his

vertebrate? If not there really isn't any comparison. oh yah it was a

us open slopestyle course with stock jumps. yah, there's a comparison

there.

do you compare supermodels to fat chicks? cause that's what you just did there.

Hmmm, just out of curiosity, when is the last time you bought a brand new pair of boots then went out and were hitting jumps with 100 foot gaps and throwing doubles?

I think you are being a bit critical considering you aren't there. Next time it happens to you though, I am sure you will be out there :)

c they all ignant mo fuckers ur gunna have haterz who don't know shit...we all know you rip so stay up playa

I said in my post that I was being unreasonable, and I was just asking about the equipment problem which I was still confused about. However, I don't think that a new pair of spk's would be that much different from an old one, and I am sure if a professional skier like clarke took a few runs in a new pair of park boots he would be ready. Im sorry if this too is innacurate. Once again, good luck with your injury michael, it sounds much more serious than I thought.

here ya go bud...

there should be substitutes around for it.

mike is out so in comes someone else as a replacement, its a shame to not use the talent of his videographer and photographer, loads of people would be crying out for a chance.

all in all i feel sorry for mike clark tho

exactly, its not like you didnt earn the spot, and not like your just not skiing completely legitimate reasons for why you cant ski, its everyones dream to ski these and i bet its killing you that you cant, heal up quick man and try and get back out there

You're dumb. He is such a good skier and has a long career ahead of him. If he permanently damaged his hand all of his career can get ruined in that instant. He hurt the hand he grabs with obviously if he sliced it open while grabbing. Today the only thing that matters in skiing is style, if you can't grab, that goes away and you cant win any comps. So why would he decide to ruin the rest of his career by rushing back into skiing after an injury?

no hate intended, but he is a pro, u'd think he could grab with the other hand maybe spice his old tricks up a bit... and in that pic he honestly doesn't look to hurt to me the black eye is knar but the hand looks like if bandaged properly he could roll.

even if he did ski its not like yo can grab with stitches in you hand and you definatlly cant grab without bending your hands

I don't care if you're pro or on skis for the first time, it's impossible to ski you're best when you're not feeling your best. I really respect everyone who's giving him support and being understanding that when you don't have your stuff, it's harder to be at 100%. I feel that you^ seem to be going at him, picking him apart whenever you feel like it. It isn't contained to just you, either. "you'd think he could grab with his other hand," buddy go break your arm and try to write with your other hand. It's just not natural. it's like me telling you to write with your opposite hand on the SATs. It's a big deal, you may/not be comfortable with the set-up, and so on. Jon built these huge jumps, and Mike's playing it safe for his body and career by taking a breather (which he has admitted is hard for him to, to be an onlooker at such a great event) and in the long run, will probably be the healthier choice. So what if Clarke got to go out and kick it at the party? Good for him. I'm glad he's still able to have some fun. And properly bandaged? You're not the judge of that. Everyone's body handles injuries differently, and it's just flat out rude for people to be 'calling him out'.

Here's to a speedy recovery, Mike, and good luck in what's to come.

yeah its not like he was the only one sitting out either, even jon was sitting sometimes for injury too

The fact that any of you actually called into question whether or not Clarke wants to be there by saying he is blowing it off is absolutely ridiculous. Why the hell would anyone invited to a contest of such high regards do that? Remember, skiers aren't in it for the cash (there isn't much). They actually love it. Further, if those of you posting that stuff knew him or had seen him skiing around before, you'd know how much fun this kid has skiing. And, seriously, do you really expect him to go out there on rental boots or in a brand new pair of boots? I don't know about you all, but my first few days in new boots are pretty much hell.

Anyway, hope your hand heals up fast and well!

thanks for the explanation, even though you didnt have too, it was awesome of you to post on newschoolers as a pro and tell about what happened. but seriously you cant take shit ppl say on her seriously, 99 percent of the time ppl dont know what theyre talking about.

haha but about the boots that is so true, my freind rented some to do a slush pond this weekend and took a couple runs in the park with em and said it felt like he was learning how to ski again

First off why would anyone hate on pros?

It took so much work for them to get there and they get hate its not right.

The kids who hate on them sit on there computer all day and dont ski at all i bet.

Why hate at all really

i totally get where youre coming from, i just broke my collarbone and nose and ive decided to take teh full 4 weeks or so to heal up, and not reinjure it just to get in a little session. its just not worth it in the long run. and hitting those sized features in the first place is just plain retarded, so why would anyone even consider doing it with equipment totally new to them, skis AND boots on top of a sliced hand? fuck that. glad people are listening to you

all you kids take this shit so seriously. this cats good, but for real, it don't see why this dude is actin like a celebrity haha.

Mike Clarke for Prez haha, seriously though, fuck the haters. Part of being a successful athlete is knowing when enough is enough, and you got that shit on lockdown. It must take some serious self control to not ride those features.

get better soon man. dont worry about haters. i bet that more than 95% people on this site love your skiing.
