My pole length.

I ski a combo of park and big mountain. Right now its mostly park (spring conditions). I wacked myself in the face with my super long poles once this season (it was ugly looking).

What is a good pole length for me.

5'11" is my height and my skis are 179.

Currently my poles are 135cm (53").

Hi

The best pole on the market is without a doubt the Public Enemy pole from K2. It i flexi and do not break if you land on it, but it is not aproved as a pole for skiing:-D

I would say you should buy a shorter pole than the once they would say match your height in the store. I'm 188cm and I ride with poles that are 125, next pole I buy will be 115 or 120.

You've got the right length if you were racing. But you can afford to lose 10cm for all over skiing.

yo when u measure poles measure it when u put the pole on the ground while holding it hold it upright and if it make a 90 degree angle wit ur arm it good for u.

Exactly. Translated into English:

Flip your pole upside down. Firmly grasp it below the basket, so that the point thing is above your hand. Rest it on the ground. If your elbow is bent 90 degrees, the pole is the perfect length for you.

mine are about at my waist, its nice casue here in mn you need to pole to get speed for things

im 5'11" too....use 46" poles, def. on the short side of what most people would reccomend but i think theyre perfect...

I would go with 44"s. I'm 6'1" and that's what i use. I don't mind 46"s if i'm not going to run into any bumps. 44s are usually the shortest poles with adult grips so that's what i would go with. If you want shorter you can always cut them down, but it's a huge pain in the ass. I have some 40"s that i just ski park with, but i like my 44's in the park to and better big mountain. I would not go with the standard size unless you just ski cat tracks.

Just get some junior poles like me for park and keep the poles u have now for all around.

junior poles are like 30 bucks.

Is 6" really average? I always thought it was 5"-5.5"... I don't feel as good about myself anymore...

Yeah, true... I mean, if it's an average that means it takes into account everyone. So if some dudes are 7, 8" for the average to be 5.5" you'd have to have guys rocking 4", which seems almost impossible haha... it's probably 6".

mid thigh is a good height for a park pole, just get cheap shitty poles so that if you wanna do some non-park ridin you can whip out your big pole.

(I had to sneak that in somewhere)

I ski w/ 45 inch poles and I'm 5'11. Why go shorter than what they are soposed to be? I would rather not use poles than use ones that were as tall as my knees, they look gay.
